St. Mary's county...Looking for steamed Crabs. Do you have to order them ahead of time? How much/many would I need for three adults?

I would think a dozen apiece is more than enough. Try Thompsons in Mechanicsville.

That one might be too far. How about around Town Creekish? How much do these things cost. I don't like them, because they look like spiders, but my in laws are coming so they might like it.

How much restraint did you have to use when answering this question? :lmao:

 I behave sometimes.

I think they are about $100/bushel but you don't need a bushel. Take them to Sangates, Seabreeze or Capt. Leonards. You can order 2 doz. & if you need more just order. :yay:

:faint: Don't crabs mostly eat dead people

I wanted to have the freaking sea spiders here on the porch so the kids could have a picnic and flop around in the pool. Do you have to buy them in a bushel?

Captain Smith's in Solomons.
My husband, Ryan, sells a bushel of crabs for $100. Mixed sizes. All male. His cellphone is 240-427-8385. He also sells them by the 1/2 bushel. We are in Hollywood, MD and not opposed to meeting half way (maybe Rt 5 & Rt 6 in New Market??).

If you go to Clements, at the 4 way stop sign there is a trailer that sells seafood . Ask Nace Farrell for a bushel. He gives a fair bushel for a fair price.

Its right at 234 and 242. A good old 7th District boy, worked all his life on the water and his wife serves a good lunch too.

You are so helpful. :flowers: All the talking to yourself is a little funky. Do I want to make sure they are all males? I want to make sure they are already steamed and seasoned. Can I hand out regular hammers or do I get something special? Do they have to be served hot?

Is it really sad that I have lived here 10 years can't answer these questions myself?

If I had a bushel of crabs now I think I would keep them in my safe deposit box. Waaaaay too expensive to eat.

If you dont like them and you THINK your in-laws might like them, get them some shrimp. Crabs are really scarce this year and way too expensive to buy on a guess that someone might like them.

Sorry, I didn't see this until now.
Yes, get all males.
A sharp paring knife is better than hammers.
Definately serve hot but they are good the next day if kept in a fridge overnight.
You've been here 10 yrs and don't know this? :faint:

You know me talking to myself turns you on. :really:
