Hi,

I'm trying to find out where the best playground is to take a toddler (15mths). Looking for something that has more than just the bucket swing.

Not too bothered about area, DC Metro area is fine.

Thanks!

You must, must, must check out theplay area in front of the governmental center in Leonardtown. :yay: :yay: It is in the same area as the Leonardtown Library, state trooper barrack, etc.

:yeahthat:

My toddler also enjoys the playground at Cove Point in Calvert Co. and the playground at the 7th district park in St. Mary's Co.

I like the park in Chaptico. It is not as big as Leonardtown but its just a couple minutes from my house. I have never taken my daughter to the Leonardtown play area but its on my to do list. The Chaptico play ground has that cushion material on the ground. I like that.

:yay: :yay: I broke my toe and sprained my ankle there, but other than that it's a blast for kids and parents! :lmao:

Leonardtown's has the cushion material too. and it's completely enclosed except for the entrance so the parents can "let the leash" out and give them space.

Whereabouts is it in Leonardtown? I know that area a little bit but not well.

Coming from Charles County so up route 5, pass St. Mary's Hospital on my left.

You would pass the entrance to the hospital and then take the next left at the light. That would put you on Route 245. It's a 30 mph zone... you will pass the college buildings on your right... you will pass some houses and then when you see the signs on the right for the court house and governmental center... you will take the next right which is also the turn for the court house and governmental center. You can see the play ground at this point. You would want to take the 2nd left which will put you at the closest parking to the playground.

I've been a dozen or so times and have only been once when it was crowded. There was a soccer game there and the parents brought the little ones over while their big kids played. But, even then, my kids had plenty of room to roam. :yay:
