Best ride of my life so far...

...this past Sunday, rt 50 west out of Winchester to Mt. Storm, S on 42 (awesome) to Petersburg, Smoke Hole road (uber awesome), 220 then 33 to Harrisonburg (stretch from Brandwine to Harrisonburg is of extra note), 253 to Port Republic, Waynesboro onto Blue Ridge Parkway (Sunday PM, damn near had it to myself simply fabulous), Roanoke, then 220 South into Carolina.

10 1/2 hours, 501 miles, I had planned to make it two days but, the more I road, the more I simply didn't wanna stop. All but the last 20 miles into Greensboro was just wonderful. The weather, virtually no traffic. Sublime. Stunning.

I brag about Fredneck and all the roads minutes from home incessantly and how awesome the riding is but, this, wow, just...wow.

That is a great ride. I really like the Winchester area. Met a friend there a few weeks ago and we did a Seneca Rocks route and then Skyline and I was just great.

33 either way out of Brandywine is beautiful.
