Barking up the right tree

"I'd been hearing this dog barking, but I didn't want to be a complaining neighbor and, besides, my wife and I are dog lovers," he said Monday. "When I was outside early Sunday, I heard a whining, and I knew something wasn't right. This time, it sounded in distress."

When following the sound of a dog, Stevenson noted, it is counter-intuitive to look up. But there was Laddy — at least 10 feet up a tree near his driveway.

"He was kind of shielded by leaves on the tree," he said.

I am so happy he was rescued!!And that no one got bit! ( Don't know if I would look up at a tree, but I guess if you were right where there where the barking was and you didn't see him, I might be inclined!)

I always worry about those electric fences not working.I always figured that the dog could get out somehow. Never thought of the battery going bad in the collar. My neighbor just got a huge dog, and looks like he could be mean. He at least looks the type. I have some cats, and I hate to think what would happen if he ever got freed. Not to mention, I would be terrified of him! I just don't like electric fences!
