Beware of Waldorf Ford part II

My daughter took her car in for an oil change.
She had noticed that the car had oil leaking from the rear of the car.
She actually crawled under the car and inspected it herself. ( she's 17).
The differential cover was leaking.
She asked that when they changed the oil if they could check it out and top it off.
She gets the car back, and they tell her that the cover looked like it was bent from a jack or road debris. Her reciept stated that all fluids were topped off, but they couldnt gaurantee that it would not continue to leek.

Fair enough.

She brings the car back to me to check out the "bend" in the cover.
What I find is 7 out of 10 bolts on the cover loose. The tightest bolt being finger tight. 2 of which were hanging on by 2 threads!.

Now I am not blaming waldorf Ford for any subsequent damage that may or may not have occured due to the rear being BONE DRY and the reciept stating that all fluids werre topped off.
HOWEVER, I do have a problem with them letting a teenage driver leave the dealership without them taking her in there to show her the issue and letting her leave without even so much as tightening 10 bolts before they allegely topped off her fluids. Safety and customer service are definately not their priority. Perhaps their goal was to hope that the rear would fail, that she would not be injured when the failure occured at some point in the future, and that she would rush back to Waldorf Ford and pay whatever premium it would be to replace the entire differential.

Personnally, I dont think I would let Waldorf Ford tune a lawn mower after this stunt. Who knows if they would tighten the blade!!

Those of you that wish to continue to use Waldorf Ford, I would at least verify that they actually do what you asked them to do!

Best of luck....

Waldorf Ford Sucks BUTT

Few years ago they did some work on my Explorer. I had them do a full tune up which was $300+ bucks and check a surging problem I was experiencing. They called to tell me I had a crack in some part and that was causing the surge. Told them that was great and to fix it at an additional charge of $70 + labor.

Picked up the truck and next day noticed surge hadn't stopped. Popped the hood and noted that the battery terminals were covered in red goop to prevent them from corroding but there was all kinds of corrosion under the goop. Took car back and asked if terminal cleaning was part of the "full tune-up" package. He said it was and I took him out to the truck to look for himself. He said he would check that and the surging.

Next day I go back and he states that the mechanic couldn't get the terminal off because it was stuck so he basically said screw the owner and sprayed the crap on it and left it. Then he said the surge was the compressor kicking on during defrost and it was normal. Of course the original cause was the cracked part I supposedely had that they said was the Problem.

I go to Sheehey Ford now and waldorf Ford can go "F" themselves!

When I used to buy Fords, I always got them from Waldorf Ford because they gave me great deals. However, whenever I needed service of any kind, I quickly learned to take it to Dorsey Gray. I don't know where Waldorf gets their mechanics from, but they are awful.

mmmmhmmmmm
I took my car there to use my free oil change coupon. Dealership had given me 5 coupons but got irritated when I was on the fourth one. Told me I couldn't keep using them and I had to pay. I told them I wouldn't pay and they would honor their coupon. I had already been through a bunch of crap buying the car so they gave me coupons to be nice. Last time I had it done the dude wrote that my next oil change should be scheduled in 9,700 miles :frown:

I was also mailed those customer surveys (3 of them). Ford people begged me to bring them to the dealership and not fill them out and they would clean my car and give me free oil changes. Is that how Ford wins all those awards? Is it cause they don't hear the customer complaints?

As a matter of fact, you are correct. the same owner for all 3 dealerships...but not the same service employees. The difference is in the people. waldorf ford seems to think they dont have to care for the people that make it possible for them to get paid... (((CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THEIR CONCERN.))) no customers no service, well soonner or later no employees. I will not take any of the fords my home owns there anymore. might I mention we own nothing but fords..... 7 vehicles.
