My daughter took her car in for an oil change.
She had noticed that the car had oil leaking from the rear of the car.
She actually crawled under the car and inspected it herself. ( she's 17).
The differential cover was leaking.
She asked that when they changed the oil if they could check it out and top it off.
She gets the car back, and they tell her that the cover looked like it was bent from a jack or road debris. Her reciept stated that all fluids were topped off, but they couldnt gaurantee that it would not continue to leek.
Fair enough.
She brings the car back to me to check out the "bend" in the cover.
What I find is 7 out of 10 bolts on the cover loose. The tightest bolt being finger tight. 2 of which were hanging on by 2 threads!.
Now I am not blaming waldorf Ford for any subsequent damage that may or may not have occured due to the rear being BONE DRY and the reciept stating that all fluids werre topped off.
HOWEVER, I do have a problem with them letting a teenage driver leave the dealership without them taking her in there to show her the issue and letting her leave without even so much as tightening 10 bolts before they allegely topped off her fluids. Safety and customer service are definately not their priority. Perhaps their goal was to hope that the rear would fail, that she would not be injured when the failure occured at some point in the future, and that she would rush back to Waldorf Ford and pay whatever premium it would be to replace the entire differential.
Personnally, I dont think I would let Waldorf Ford tune a lawn mower after this stunt. Who knows if they would tighten the blade!!
Those of you that wish to continue to use Waldorf Ford, I would at least verify that they actually do what you asked them to do!
Best of luck....
