New Text Message Destroys Joe Biden’s Defense in Influence-Peddling Scandal

A new text message released by the House Oversight Committee shows Joe Biden’s brother Jim Biden explaining to Hunter Biden that he needed the “usual” help from Joe Biden to make a foreign business deal work.

“This can work, you need a safe harbor. I can work with you [sic] father alone!!” Jim’s message from December 2018 reads. “We as usual just need several months of his help for this to work. Let’s talk about it. It makes perfect sense to me. This is difficult to fully vet without talking.”

Biden family worked closely with Chinese companies ahead of wire payments

Hunter Biden and Li had developed a relationship as Hunter Biden pursued multiple deals in China, including with the private equity firm BHR Partners, which he and his business partners joined as a joint venture with Chinese-owned entities. Li became the CEO of BHR.

Around the time that Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, one of his former business partners, signed on to BHR, Hunter Biden traveled to China on Air Force Two with then-Vice President Joe Biden.

Once in Beijing for the December 2013 trip, Hunter Biden arranged a meeting between Li and his father.

Although Hunter Biden told the New Yorker in 2019 that the meeting was nothing more than a handshake, Archer told the House Oversight Committee in July that Joe Biden actually met with Li for coffee in China.

Later, Archer said Joe Biden spoke to Li on the phone. During a dinner Hunter Biden, Archer, and Li had in China between 2014 and 2016, Archer testified, Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone to greet his Chinese associate.

Joe Biden also wrote a letter of recommendation for Li’s son to attend Brown University, emails show.

And Archer told the House Oversight Committee in July that Hunter Biden “potentially” mentioned the possibility of his father joining the Chinese businessmen as a paid adviser to one of their companies, although he did not remember the details

When Archer faced legal troubles in an unrelated business matter in 2016, he stepped back from the Chinese venture, and BHR shares that he jointly owned with Hunter Biden were divided up and transferred both to his own company and to one of Hunter Biden’s many companies, Skaneateles, according to emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop.

Democrat Rep Jamie Raskin's Words Come Back to Haunt Him During Biden Impeachment Inquiry

What Raskin left out is that vote took place on October 31, 2019 (appropriately Halloween), but then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi authorized a formal impeachment inquiry more than a month before, on Sept. 24.

Politico reported in mid-October 2019, Pelosi lacked support within her caucus to bring the matter to the floor for a vote, and that is why she proceeded without one.

“The move came amid opposition from key chairmen and members of leadership, as well as a number of centrist Democrats facing tough re-election bids,” the news outlet said.

“There’s no requirement that we have a vote, and at this time, we will not have a vote,” Pelosi told reporters.

Raskin, a former constitutional law professor at American University, backed up Pelosi.

“There’s no formal constitutional or statutory [requirement] or even House rule for how an impeachment inquiry is to begin, and so it means different things to different people,” he told reporters in September 2019.

But Crockett, like her not-so-esteemed Democratic colleagues, took issue with the idea that the president should be investigated for his alleged involvement with his son’s shady foreign business dealings. When it was her turn to speak, she ardently defended the president, claiming that he is only guilty of “loving his child unconditionally” and suggested that House Republicans stop the inquiry to focus on other things.

But I will tell you what the President has been guilty of. He has unfortunately been guilty of loving his child unconditionally, and that is the only evidence that they have brought forward. Honestly, I hope and pray that my parents love me half as much as he loves his child. Until they find some evidence, we need to get back to the people's work, which means keeping this government open so that people don't go hungry in the streets of the United States. I will yield.

AOC's Ridiculous Pomposity Punctured, MTG Finishes Her off During Impeachment Inquiry

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had a meltdown this week after X owner Elon Must posted that she was "just not that smart." She tried to list her achievements in response, but it only showed how little she'd done and how nothing in her response rebutted the claim by Musk.

Now, during the first day of the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden in the U.S. House on Thursday, AOC confirmed that assessment, about not being smart -- in spades.

She seemed to think that she had a big point to make when she asked George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley, the two other Republican witnesses, and a witness for the Democrats if they were "presenting any first-hand witness account of crimes committed by the president of the United States?"

It was hilarious, as though she thought she was somehow debunking the case against Joe Biden. But none of those people were intended to be a fact witness; they were there to talk about their knowledge of the law or of investigating similar matters. You can't debunk something they aren't claiming.

Even the Democratic witness notes that he's not a fact witness at the end, puncturing AOC's ridiculous pomposity, and Turley's eye roll at about 16 seconds in is priceless. If you wanted an example of how to waste the time you have to question witnesses, this was it.

If that wasn't silly enough. then AOC tossed another fit when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was referring to an exhibit. Greene was attempting to show a picture of a woman in a bathing suit, but Rep. Jamie Raskin (R-MD) objected, claiming that Greene had introduced "pornographic pictures" in the past that were not suitable for children. That was funny because it was a reference to her showing pictures of Hunter Biden and hookers. MTG was accusing Hunter of Mann Act violations, and of being involved in trafficking. But the Democrats don't want to address that or address anything related to Hunter or Joe Biden.

Democrat at Oversight Hearing mostly concerned about Rep. MTG's constituents' paychecks

It's almost as though the Democrats are trying to deflect from the impeachment inquiry into Biden. And this editor hates to say it, but the ones who could pulled the race card … to protect 53-year-old "child" Hunter Biden, the epitome of white privilege.

Rep. Summer Lee, along with the rest of the Democrats, tried to deflect to the impending government shutdown and showed deep concern for the federal employees in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's district.

Hours after finishing his first impeachment inquiry hearing, House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., issued three subpoenas Thursday evening for the personal and business bank records of Hunter and James Biden.

Comer said the record demands are key to following the money from foreign sources to its final destination.

"One of those steps is gaining insight into where the Biden’s’ foreign money ended up, for what purposes," Comer said as the marathon hearing wrapped up. "Today, I will subpoena the bank records of Hunter Biden, James Biden and their affiliated companies."

A memo released Wednesday from Comer, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Oh.), and Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) alleged that "The Biden family and their business associates received over $24 million from foreign sources over the course of approximately five years."

I wonder if Joe is even aware enough to realize what's going on, or maybe his keepers are withholding the news from him.

The media is bringing out the old military don't get paid, seniors don't get paid. All the national parks will close, yadda, yadda , yadda. What they won't talk about is why every republican proposal brought to vote why does every democrat vote no .? There's gotta be some who like them.

I don't know why the fuss about furloughs, it's a post-paid vacation for these people. And the only furlough I remember not being reimbursed was under Obama (those Dems so worried about peoples paychecks and yet they are the ones that didn't pay), and under Trump they passed a law making it required to back pay.

These articles, and others like them, completely distort what Turley testified to Thursday. These articles with their misleading headlines quote Turley as saying, “I do not believe that the evidence currently meets the standard of a high crime and misdemeanor needed for an article of impeachment.”

But that’s not exactly what he said. Reports have almost universally omitted critical context.

Here’s what Turley actually said in his written statement, with the oft-quoted snipped in bold:

It is important to emphasize what this hearing is not. It is not a hearing on articles of impeachment. The House has launched an impeachment inquiry, and I am appearing to discuss the history and purpose of such inquiries. I have previously stated that, while I believe that an impeachment inquiry is warranted, I do not believe that the evidence currently meets the standard of a high crime and misdemeanor needed for an article of impeachment. The purpose of my testimony today is to discuss how past inquiries pursued evidence of potentially impeachable conduct.
My testimony also reflects the fact that I do believe that, after months of investigation, the House has passed the threshold for an inquiry into whether President Joe Biden was directly involved or benefited from the corrupt practices of his son, Hunter, and others. Since my testimony focuses on the historical and legal aspects of this inquiry, I will leave much of the discussion of the evidence to my fellow witnesses and to the Committee members themselves. However, I believe that the record has developed to the point that the House needs to answer troubling questions surrounding the President. As discussed below, polls indicate that most of the country shares those concerns while expressing doubts over the Biden Administration investigating potential criminal conduct.

You can watch Turley speak here:

Turley makes it quite clear that, contrary to what both the Democrats and the media have claimed, an impeachment inquiry is very much warranted — a detail that the media is glossing over to give the impression that Republicans are on a wild goose chase, impeaching Biden without any evidence to support doing so. But an impeachment inquiry is, by definition, an investigation, not the actual impeachment.

Make no mistake about it; the House Oversight Committee has sworn testimony, bank records, emails, phone calls, videos and photos, text messages, and even White House visitor logs. An impeachment inquiry will now give the House expanded investigative powers to dig even deeper. In fact, at the end of Thursday’s hearing, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ohio) announced his intention to subpoena bank records for not only Hunter Biden but also for Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, as the next step of the investigation and that subpoenaing Joe Biden’s personal bank records may be next.

It began with them arguing that the president knew absolutely nothing about his family’s influence-peddling business to arguing that it’s no big deal that ChiCom wire payoffs happen to have Biden’s home address listed on them.

The quality of the excuses, unsurprisingly, has been deteriorating rapidly.

They largely entail repeating the words “no” and “evidence” in a perpetual loop.

But this week, when James Comer released financial records of Hunter Biden receiving two wire transfers totaling $260,000 in 2019 from Beijing with the president’s Delaware home listed as the beneficiary address, the White House jumped into action.

“Imagine them arguing that, if someone stayed at their parents’ house during the pandemic, listed it as their permanent address for work, and got a paycheck, the parents somehow also worked for the employer,” wrote White House spokesman Ian Sams. “It’s bananas. Yet this is what extreme House Republicans have sunken to.”

Comer’s subpoena appears to be directed at obtaining records linked to President Joe Biden’s corporation, “CelticCapri Corp,” which received nearly $10 million in 2017 without specifying revenue line items. “So that’s an LLC account. It wasn’t a shell company — that was a real LLC account with more earnings in there than what we can find. So that is an account we plan to subpoena as we follow the money,” Comer said last week.

James Biden, an often overlooked member of the Biden family, is President Joe Biden’s younger brother and Hunter Biden’s uncle. James and Hunter were business partners with CEFC China Energy Co., an organization closely aligned and linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP.)

While Hunter’s complex web of wire transfers from CEFC received much attention in recent years, Comer expanded his focus to James Biden’s entities. Those entities received at least 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 through Hunter’s entities, according to the 2020 Senate Report by Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson:

[T]here is also evidence that Hunter Biden moved large sums of money from his firm, Owasco, to James Biden’s consulting firm, the Lion Hall Group. Between Aug. 14, 2017 and Aug. 3, 2018, Owasco sent 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 to the Lion Hall Group, a consulting firm that lists James Biden and his wife, Sara Biden, on the bank account. This transaction was identified for potential criminal financial activity. These transfers began less than one week after CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to Hudson West III and Hudson West III sent its first payment of $400,000 to Owasco. Most of the payments from Owasco to the Lion Hall Group had vague notes in the memo lines, 15 of which simply indicated that they were for further credit to James Biden; however, the memo line for one of the payments read “HW3,” which indicates some of the transferred money could be from Hudson West III. When the bank contacted Sara Biden regarding the overall wire activity, she stated that the Lion Hall Group and Owasco provide international and business consulting and that the Lion Hall Group was assisting Owasco with an international client through a contract that had since terminated. Sara Biden told the bank that she would not provide any supporting documentation, and she also refused to provide additional information to more clearly explain the activity. Consequently, the bank submitted the account for closure.
Hudson West III also sent funds directly to the Lion Hall Group. According to records on file with the Committees, James B. Biden is the principal contact for the Lion Hall Group, and between January 2018 and October 2018, Hudson West III sent the Lion Hall Group outgoing wires totaling $76,746.15 with the memo, “office expense and reimbursement.”These transactions illustrate a direct financial link between Hudson West III (which was connected to CEFC, the Chinese government, and Gongwen Dong) and James Biden.
On Aug. 17, 2017, three days after the first transfer from Owasco to The Lion Hall Group, it was publicly announced that Ye’s CEFC Energy was in talks to purchase a stake in the Russian state-owned energy company Rosneft, which, as noted, later fell through.

Chinese energy company CEFC, a state-backed firm that is “effectively an arm of the Chinese Government,” paid the Biden family and their associates millions — presumably for “access” to Joe Biden — funneling the cash through Robinson Walker LLC, an account run by Biden family associate Rob Walker. After receiving a $3 million payout from CEFC, Robinson Walker LLC wired two $50,000 payments to an account belonging to James Biden on April 3, 2017, another $120,000 on April 20, $125,000 on April 24, and $15,000 on May 18, bringing James Biden’s total receipt from CEFC in that exchange to $360,000.

Later, James also received money via his consulting firm, Lion Hall Group. “Between Aug. 14, 2017 and Aug. 3, 2018, [Hunter Biden’s company] Owasco sent 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 to the Lion Hall Group, a consulting firm that lists James Biden and his wife, Sara Biden, on the bank account,” Sens. Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley reported in 2020. The transfers started days after CEFC wired millions to Hudson West III, a joint venture between Hunter Biden and CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming, which began sending money to Owasco. After the transaction into the Lion Hall Group account was flagged “for potential criminal financial activity,” the bank “submitted the account for closure.”

In August 2017, around the time those payments started, James Biden was made a manager at Hudson West III, to be paid $65,000 a month.

Hudson West III also sent a total of $76,746 directly to Lion Hall Group in 2018.

On top of that, James, his wife Sara, and Hunter went on a $101,291 spending spree with credit cards opened by Hunter and Kevin Dong, who “served as ‘Chairman Ye[’s] CEFC emissary’ in the United States.” The three Bidens purchased “extravagant items, including airline tickets and multiple items at Apple Inc. stores, pharmacies, hotels and restaurants.”

Two years later, The Washington Post confirmed Johnson and Grassley’s discoveries, admitting “the Chinese energy conglomerate and its executives paid $4.8 million to entities controlled by Hunter Biden and his uncle.”

On Thursday, House investigators subpoenaed bank records for both Hunter and James Biden after additional records revealed “the Bidens and their associates have received over $20 million in payments from foreign entities.”
