It Took Just Four Days For Biden’s Oil Price Scheme To Go Up In Smoke

“It’s not a ‘strategic price reserve.’ It was never intended for this and it won’t do anything, just like the last one,” Institute for Energy Research President Tom Pyle told the Daily Caller News Foundation after Biden’s announcement. “This is about nine days worth of demand, but even less because a barrel of crude from the Reserve does not equal a barrel of gasoline.”

Biden released 50 million barrels of oil in November and another 30 million barrels on March 1. Both previous stockpile releases were followed by temporary decreases in gasoline prices before prices then shot up again.

What's his plan to replace what he's taken out, or do we have to wait for another Republican President before it gets replenished?

All it does is shaves a few cents for a couple of days. The media then talks it up like some great cost reduction.

White House Defends Giving Smartphones To Illegal Aliens

On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended the Biden administration’s decision to provide smartphones to illegal aliens in order to track those individuals as they move throughout America.

During a White House press briefing, Psaki argued that it “is all part of our effort, as individuals come into the United States and individuals who are entering who will proceed to immigration proceedings, to monitor and track where they are.”

Her comments were in response to Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who referenced a report made in part by his colleague Bill Melugin. On Tuesday, Melguin tweeted, “Sources tell me w/ parole releases, the migrants are asked to turn themselves into ICE in a city of their choice.”

“I’m told many of them are given these phones by the government to track them and allow them to communicate w/ ICE, but there’s no way to stop them from being tossed,” he added.

Actually Biden and Hogan think a lot alike. Biden is releasing crude from our reserves, and Hogan has stopped Maryland's gas tax for a month. Neither is an answer to the problem.

Ankle bracelets like they put on prisoners making bail would be a lot cheaper and do just as good.
The illegals will use the phones until their time is up and toss them, or sell them , they would do the same with the ankle bracelets.

MBS threatened to move Saudi Arabia closer to Russia and China to punish Biden for ostracizing him, report says

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman threatened to move the country closer to Russia and China to punish President Joe Biden for distancing himself from the kingdom, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Since coming to power, the Biden administration has criticized Saudi human-rights abuses, reeled in US support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen, and shunned Crown Prince Mohammed — colloquially known as MBS. Also, Biden has yet to meet him in person.

In February 2021, the US sanctioned dozens of Saudis believed to have played a role in the 2018 killing of the Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi. The crown prince wasn't directly affected by the sanctions.

Why a tiny Pacific nation’s China deal is getting global attention

The deal between China and the Solomon Islands, a nation of 700,000 people that had deadly riots last year, poses “serious risks to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” officials from the U.S., Australia, Japan and New Zealand said in a statement on Wednesday.

[clip]

The deal is a “game changer,” said Anne-Marie Brady, a China expert at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

“The U.S. is the main target of this move, as it aims to counter U.S. containment strategy in the Indo-Pacific,” she said. “But it also directly threatens the security and autonomy of the island states of the Pacific, as well as Australia and New Zealand.”

Among their concerns is that the deal could enable China to set up a military base — its first in the Pacific — less than 1,300 miles from Australia, whose relations with Beijing are at their lowest point in years. The Solomon Islands also sit on key shipping lanes between the U.S. and Asia.

[clip]

The Solomon Islands has grown closer to China under Sogavare, giving Beijing a major win in 2019 when it severed long-standing diplomatic ties with Taiwan. Unease about China’s role in the country’s affairs, and claims of Beijing-linked corruption, contributed to violent unrest in November that targeted the capital’s Chinatown and left four people dead. Australia sent peacekeeping forces under its own security agreement with the country.

According to Sogavare, the security pact with Beijing is needed in part so Chinese police can protect Chinese-funded infrastructure. But opposition leader Matthew Wale said he feared Sogavare, who has tried to postpone the 2023 general election, could use Chinese forces to prop up his government.

It happens time after time - but the telling phrase is ---

"I'm not supposed to..."

A leader who is in charge will say something like "Not yet - I'll do it later" or "I'm just calling on a few people...".

NOT telling the world that he's been instructed to do this or that.

Form Foreign Policy Magaine:

In Sri Lanka, Organic Farming Went Catastrophically Wrong

And:

Faced with a deepening economic and humanitarian crisis, Sri Lanka called off an ill-conceived national experiment in organic agriculture this winter. Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa promised in his 2019 election campaign to transition the country’s farmers to organic agriculture over a period of 10 years. Last April, Rajapaksa’s government made good on that promise, imposing a nationwide ban on the importation and use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides and ordering the country’s 2 million farmers to go organic.
The result was brutal and swift. Against claims that organic methods can produce comparable yields to conventional farming, domestic rice production fell 20 percent in just the first six months. Sri Lanka, long self-sufficient in rice production, has been forced to import $450 million worth of rice even as domestic prices for this staple of the national diet surged by around 50 percent. The ban also devastated the nation’s tea crop, its primary export and source of foreign exchange.

Yet, that’s exactly what team Biden wants for U.S. farmers:

Honestly we just need to arrange an accident for that guy sooner rather than later. I know there are like 12 thousand heirs waiting to take his place, so maybe a really big accident.
