Joe Biden's plan to punish equity investors

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has partially spelled out his economic agenda. He has said he plans to increase the corporate tax rate to 28 percent from 21 percent, a 33 percent tax hike.

Such a hike would encourage offshoring by U.S. companies, and the losers would include U.S. workers who are out of a job and investors such as 401K equity-holders.

His agenda includes a more progressive personal income tax system with the taxation of capital gains and dividends at ordinary tax rates for higher income households and the elimination of the step-up basis for capital gains.

His economic agenda would likely include application of the 12.4 percent payroll tax on incomes earned over $400,000, but with no additional benefits to those paying the new tax. For 2020, the 6.2 percent rate is paid on earned income up to $137,770. The progressive wing of his party may like to have the 6.2 percent applied to unearned income, but that feature may not be part of Biden’s initial economic agenda.

Biden Proposes $775 Billion Plan Funded by Real Estate Taxes

The Biden campaign did not fully explain how the plan for a “caring economy” would be financed, but officials highlighted some tax breaks they would seek to eliminate to raise revenue.

In particular, a senior campaign official said a Biden administration would take aim at so-called like-kind exchanges, which allow investors to defer paying taxes on the sale of commercial real estate if the capital gains are reinvested in another property. The official also said they would prevent investors from using real estate losses to lower their income tax bills.

Biden is scheduled to deliver a speech on the policies Tuesday afternoon in New Castle, Delaware.

The proposal is the third plank of the Democratic nominee’s economic plan. It calls for universal preschool for three- and four-year-olds. It also eliminates the waiting list for home and community services under Medicaid, offers low-income and middle-class families a tax credit of as much as $8,000 to help pay for child care and increases pay for caregivers and early childhood educators.

Joe Biden Rolls Out Policy Plan With A Shocking $10 TRILLION Price Tag

Fox, which compiled the full proposal from a number of reports that have surfaced over the past several weeks, says that Biden’s plan so far includes:
  • $2 trillion for climate
  • $1.3 trillion for infrastructure
  • $750 billion for health care
  • $750 billion for higher education
  • $700 billion for Biden’s “Buy American” plan
  • $640 billion for housing
  • $125 billion for Biden’s opioid plan
  • $30 billion for criminal justice reform
  • $750 billion for preschool and K-12 education, according to the CRFB (excluding $100 billion for investments in public school buildings that are already included in the infrastructure plan)
  • Between $270 billion and $380 billion for paid family leave, according to CRFB estimates on a similar proposal from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
  • $775 billion for universal preschool, expanded child care, and in-home elder care
In addition, Biden has proposed a sweeping plan to address “systemic racism” which “grafted onto nearly all aspects of the $7 trillion-plus in new federal spending that the former vice president has proposed for the next 10 years, according to campaign and think-tank estimates,” per the Wall Street Journal, though Biden has yet to say how each individual spending proposal ultimately addresses issues of race.

The Wall Street Journal adds that Biden plans to pay for his hefty hike in federal spending with major tax hikes, but the amount collected will likely be far less than the amount Biden’s planning to spend. WSJ estimates that, even with a rollback of Trump-era tax breaks, Biden will raise just $4 trillion, less than half of what is needed to pay for what he’s already proposed.

In my lifetime, I've seen the government do few things efficiently. Given enough time and money, just about any problem can be solved. Look at NASA. In roughly a decade they put a man on the moon and safely returned him to earth. The first Gulf War is another example. Overwhelming firepower. Quick in & out, with little loss of life. As it should be.

So Joe should learn from our recent US history. Instead of shotgunning a whole bunch of ideas. And spreading money all over the place, he should stick to a few pet projects and try to do those well. Barry had Obamacare. But we all knew when they couldn't even make a functioning website for his new healthcare initiative, it was doomed. And by it, I mean the US taxpayers.

But I get he has to pander to a lot of different groups. I can't wait for the debates to get here. You watch how the liberal moderators will be shameless in their efforts to toss Joe the biggest and slowest softballs they can find.

Biden: You Know What We Need? More Islam in the Schools

Biden’s prescription for what ails us came during a bout of intensive Islamopandering he engaged in while addressing the “Million Muslim Votes Summit,” a call hosted by Emgage Action, which says it is the largest Muslim PAC in the United States. According to the Washington Free Beacon, it is also “a George Soros-backed Muslim group, which cohosts a conference that in recent years drew speakers who called homosexuality a ‘disease’ and defended terrorist groups….Emgage has collaborated with a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group on events that in recent years attracted speakers who openly opposed LGBT rights and supported terror groups. Last year, Emgage became an official cohost of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) conferences. ISNA was previously revealed to be part of the Muslim Brotherhood network—though it claims it is no longer associated with the group.”

The presumptive Democratic nominee threw this crowd plenty of red meat, promising: “If I have the honor of being president, I will end the Muslim ban on day one, day one.” There is no “Muslim ban,” but the idea that such a ban does actually exist is not just a product of the candidate’s rapidly deteriorating mental capacity. Islamic supremacists and their Leftist allies insist on calling the Trump administration’s travel bans on nationals from 13 countries a “Muslim ban,” even though five of those countries, Burma, Eritrea, Tanzania, North Korea, and Venezuela, are not Muslim countries, and there are 49 other Muslim countries upon which there is no ban at all.

The ban exists because these countries cannot or will not provide accurate information about prospective immigrants. The list of countries was devised during the Obama administration, while Biden was vice president. But that didn’t stop Biden from casting it in racial terms, declaring: “Muslim communities were the first to feel Donald Trump’s assault on black and brown communities in this country with his vile Muslim ban.” It’s a peculiar “assault on black and brown communities” that leaves untouched scores of countries inhabited by “black and brown communities,” but the Left is working on the gut level of rage and hatred, not rational consideration.

Biden’s Revenge Agenda

Here’s a preview of the Revenge Agenda, empowered by court packing and the elimination of the filibuster, and cheerleaded by the mainstream media which will absolutely enjoy the taxpayer-funded bribes/bailouts of its failing industry.

Fraud-friendly mail-in voting will be mandatory and every possible voting integrity rule and protection will be declared unlawful, ensuring that the Democrats are free to cheat. Oh sure, count on the Biden DoJ to take time away from persecuting conservative political opponents to investigate the manifest Democrat electoral abuses. The feds – who will suddenly become the left’s heroes again (AG McCabe anyone?) – will get right on that.

Count on amnesty for everyone who staggers, stumbles, or slips across the border. The “pathway to citizenship” will go right past the Democrat Party registration tables. Your vote will be drowned out in a tsunami of foreigners paid off by Democrat handouts of your money.

Your taxes will skyrocket. But hey, you can be sure all those liberal zillionaires will be paying through the nose too – they’ll be hit with a special unicorn tax.

The Democrats hate small businesspeople, with their independence and tendency to vote Republican, and these patriotic entrepreneurs will be crushed with the eager assistance of the big corporations who hate the competition. Wal-Mart and other crony capitalists will prosper as long as they keep donating.

The DNC is considering adding language to the 2020 Democratic platform endorsing “structural court reforms to increase transparency and accountability,” according to NBC News. The proposed amendment would also condemn Republicans for packing “our federal courts with unqualified, partisan judges who consistently rule for corporations, the wealthy, and Republican interests” as well as “blocking a Democratic president from appointing a justice to the Supreme Court.”

Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii told NBC she was considering a range of reform options including court packing. She said she has been “talking with people who have different ideas about what we can do — including adding to the court, including having certain circuit court judges cycle in and other ideas.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT BIDEN IS GETTING OUT

The Democratic Party press has been assuring us breathlessly that the Republicans are in deep trouble, cruising toward a disaster in November. At the same time, they assiduously avoid mentioning that the party with the real problem is their own. The Democrats’ nominee is suffering from an advanced case of dementia that makes it difficult for him to appear in public. The party’s leaders, to the extent they have any, are undoubtedly strategizing ways of getting him off the ticket following their “convention”–which they won’t actually hold. An unbiased observer might think it is the Democrats, not the Republicans, who have reason to fear the voters’ verdict this Fall. And that is before we even start talking about the riots.

Somehow, despite the press blockade, word about Joe Biden has gotten out. Rasmussen got this stunning poll result: 59% of respondents don’t think Biden will be around to finish a four-year term, should he be elected. And it isn’t only Republicans who doubt that Biden will be well enough to serve out a term in office. Forty-nine percent of Democrats agree that if Biden wins, it is likely his vice-president will assume the office within four years. No wonder Biden’s handlers are pondering his Veep selection carefully!

We now see his VP selection and ---DAMN--do we really want a woman who is a prosecutor with no experience in running anything larger the an AG office, with no business experience, no budget experience,no military experience, and who slept with an old man to get the position she has?

Biden picked her to get a African-American woman hoping she would bring him some votes.
She isn't African-American she is only American because she was born in Oakdale California, and even blacks don't appear to like her.

If Trump doesn't win in a landslide it is because of the idiocy of the American voter, and we probably deserve what we may get.

Joe Biden Does Not Understand the Second Amendment

"I have a shotgun," Biden said. "My sons hunt." He notably omitted any mention of the right to self-defense, which the Supreme Court has recognized as the Second Amendment's "central component," or of handguns, which the justices described as the "quintessential self-defense weapon."

In explaining his plan to ban "high-capacity magazines," Biden also talks about hunting. "Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun," his campaign says. "That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children."

The three-round limit suggested by that non sequitur would be clearly unconstitutional, effectively banning all semi-automatic firearms and revolvers. But judging from an expired federal law that Biden supported, he would be more generous, allowing magazines with capacities of up to 10 rounds—the same as the limit set by California, which made it a crime to manufacture, transfer, or even possess "large-capacity magazines" (LCMs).

As the 9th Circuit noted, that law covered half of the magazines owned by Americans—115 million out of 230 million, according to one estimate. LCMs come standard with some of the most popular firearms sold in the United States, including "Glocks, Berettas, and other handguns that are staples of self-defense."

WSJ: You Know, Joe Biden's COVID Plan Sounds Awfully Familiar

Picking up on a theme that the Trump campaign has been advancing for months, the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal noted over the weekend that for all of Joe Biden's complaints about the Trump administration's COVID response, the 'better' course of action the Democratic nominee is recommending actually hews rather closely to what the incumbent's team has already done -- and is currently doing. We've already fact-checked some of the Biden-Harris ticket's claims and comparisons regarding Coronavirus. This editorial adds some additional color and context:

The Democratic nominee is promising a better virus strategy, which would be wonderful if he had one. But the virus plan he’s pushing is little different on the substance than what the Trump Administration is already doing...Mr. Trump’s virus policy in practice has been better than his critics claim, and Mr. Biden isn’t offering better ideas. Start with testing. Mr. Biden promises to “develop and deploy rapid tests with results available immediately.” Great—the Food and Drug Administration in the past week has approved two new rapid tests that can be scaled up quickly. The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention botched the initial testing rollout. And earlier this summer, shortages of chemical reagents and lab equipment led to delays in processing tests amid a surge of infections. But supply-chain hiccups are gradually being worked out. The U.S. is now conducting 700,000 or so tests a day, up from about 400,000 in early June and 100,000 in late March...

The Journal's editors also point out how Biden is pledging to fast track the production and distribution of an effective vaccine. Maybe Biden could refer to this idea as "operation warp speed," which is its official name under the Trump administration -- and on which there has been very significant progress. Of course, Team Trump should avoid politicizing the vaccine process because nonsense like this will sow widespread doubts about any splashy announcements that could arrive before election day. Exactly this:

Biden retirement proposal would upend traditional 401(k) plans

Instead of pretax contributions that provide bigger tax benefits to the rich, everyone would get flat tax credit

Biden would instead “equalize” the incentive system by ending such deductions and replacing them with flat tax credits for each dollar saved. The campaign isn’t saying what that percentage would be, but the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center has estimated a 26 percent credit would be roughly revenue neutral over the first 20 years and beyond, which the Biden campaign is aiming for.

Under this plan, someone earning $600,000 would get the same tax break as someone making $60,000 — an identical $260 tax credit for their $1,000 retirement contribution. The credit would also be refundable, so someone earning too little for the credit to fully offset their income tax liability would still get the full tax credit.

Ben Harris, a Biden adviser who served as the nominee's chief economist during his vice presidency, emphasized the equalization feature at a policy roundtable Aug. 18 during the Democratic National Convention. “This is a big part of the plan which hasn’t got a lot of attention,” Harris said.

Biden Platform Would Raise Taxes By $3.4 Trillion, Study Says

A new study finds that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s platform would raise taxes by $3.4 trillion on Americans and corporations over the next decade.

The Penn Wharton Budget Model, a nonpartisan group at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, released the study on Monday. In addition to trillions more in taxes, Biden’s platform would raise federal spending by about $5.4 trillion — or roughly 24% of gross domestic product by 2030, Fox Business reported.

“The spending plan, which is more than double what Hillary Clinton proposed during the 2016 campaign, would be funded by a slew of new taxes, including a corporate tax hike. Biden’s trillion-dollar proposals signal that he’ll continue the unprecedented level of government spending that began in mid-March as American life came to a grinding halt because of the COVID-19 crisis,” Fox wrote.

Meanwhile, his gun safety proposals will ban the manufacture and sale of AR-15s and require all existing owners to register under the National Firearms Act. Each registration will cost $200 according to current forms. You will be fingerprinted and have to make a copy for your local police department. This would also be true for so-called “high capacity magazines.” As one Twitter user put it:

So, in reality, this is not merely about scary-looking black rifles. Instead, it a mechanism by which anyone possessing a handgun with what was once a standard magazine will be on a national gun registry. If you choose not to register your firearm or magazine or can’t afford to, it will be “bought back” by the government in a buyback program.

The Biden administration would also end the online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts. This prohibition would occur while the radical left pressures major retailers to stop selling guns and ammunition. So technically, you may have your 2nd Amendment right. Exercising it will be another matter.

In an era of escalating crime, political violence, and spontaneous riots, the Biden campaign believes punishing legal gun owners is the correct answer. All while major metropolitan areas are slashing police budgets in response to Black Lives Matter’s “Defund the Police” movement. It is nearly guaranteed that if the man who shot the deputies in Los Angeles is caught and the firearm is recovered, as in most cases, his possession of the gun will turn out to be illegal.

Biden Says He’ll Kill Federal Funding For Charter Schools. Many Of Those Schools Hugely Benefit Minorities.

Garcia: We’d like to know how you feel about charter schools.

Biden, shaking his head, stated, “I will not — there will be no federal dollars — I’m not Betsy DeVos — nor will my, my Secretary of Education be anything like her in terms of her attitudes about public schools. No privately funded charter school will receive or private charter school will receive a penny of federal money. None.”

“And any charter school that, in fact, is worthy of being able to be in education, would have to be accountable to the same exact school boards, the same exact mechanisms that the public school is accountable to across the board,” Biden continued. “There has to be transparency. Now a lot of these charter schools are significantly underperforming, significantly. I can see where you can have a school, for example, a specialty school in the arts or for music. But if you’re going to have a charter school, it cannot come at the expense of the public school. It cannot come at the expense of the public school. We have to fully fund them. And any charter school that qualifies as essentially a chartered public school has to be accountable to the same standards, the same requirements, the same transparency as the public schools in that district are accountable to, meaning the Board of Education or whatever the mechanism and the controls of that school board.”

so make charter schools accountable to the same worthless school boards that cannot manage the schools to start with, necessitating Charter Schools

Biden’s 2020 Party Platform Proposal Seeks to Abolish America’s Suburban Communities

For instance, in the “executive orders” section of the platform proposal, Biden/Sanders note that Biden would, “Implement the Obama-Biden Administration’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule requiring communities receiving certain federal funding to proactively examine housing patterns and identify and address policies that have discriminatory effects.”

The Biden/Sanders platform also scolds Trump, and says Biden would “Roll back Trump Administration policies gutting fair lending and fair housing protections.”

In another section, the platform states Biden would: “Ensure effective and rigorous enforcement of the Fair Housing Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. Hold financial institutions accountable for discriminatory practices in the housing market.”

With a longer explanation, the platform states:

If you are unsure of what all this means, the Obama AFFH rules would force every single American city or town to add section 8 and so-called “low-income” housing in every community.

So more sub-prime loans, leading to another huge housing market failure, so he can look like a hero when he bails out all the banks??
