If you ever wanted to get a small atv or dirt bike for your youngster it might be to late.

Yesterday, a law went into effect prohibiting the sale of minicycles to children under the age of 13 as a result of the lead content in the machines (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, Title I, Section 101). This law, which arguably applies to both motorcycles and ATVs, treats any children's product that contains more lead than the limit established by law as a banned hazardous substance.

Nothing new. Go into a shop and tell them you want a bike for your 10 year old. They will not sell to you. Must be 16 years old to ride them.

That is how it has been for me in MD

Really? Then what's the point of those itty bitty dirt bikes? Are 16-year-olds riding them? :lmao:

When did that happen? I know they have racing classes at Budds Creek for kids as young as 4.

I bowl overhand
 Next thing, kids won't be able to hunt with lead ammo or fish with lead weights

You laugh, I bet that's next.

I would bet money that ANY and ALL chidren's fishing sets have already been pulled from the shelf due to the incllusion of the lead weights, and if they haven't the store is in violation.

Those damn dangerous Snoopy fishing poles!!
