Although I don't like to defend Clinton, he did try to take out Osama in 1998, but the guy had left the target zone a few hours earlier. A few of Clinton's critics suggested that he was trying to divert attention from the Lewinsky scandal. I still agree that Clinton could have done much more to stop Osama.

I guess you could say:

"Why wasn't Clinton hunting the real terrorists? He was letting Osama Bin Laden run freely while he was wasting his time with an unlawful war in Iraq! He was trying to wipe out non-existent WMD, while OBL ran loose planning attacks! What a chimp! What a liar! What a nazi!"


That sounds vaguely familar though...

I have always believed that it was a diversion. Plus, the military was very ill-prepared at that time. Shooting sand and killing 9 innocent people was all he got out of the Afhganistan attack in 1998.
