Birthday Cake Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a good place or person to get a birthday cake from(preferrably in Charles County)? It's for a 50th birthday and I want one that's decorated AND tastes good (not grocery store bakery). Thanks!

They may not be the prettiest but Safeway cake is by far the best tasting cake around... I love me some cake w/ buttercream :drool:

McKay's in Charlotte Hall...not that far from Charles Co and I know it's a grocery store but don't knock it 'til you try it.

Sam's Club in Waldorf makes a pretty good cake and so does McKays Bakery in Charlotte Hall. I know they are somewhat like grocery stores, but the cake is good, with maybe Mckays being a bit better then Sams,

You may want to give Isabel Williams a call. She's not in Charles County, but located in St. Mary's (7th District) and may be able to deliver if you're in the southern end of Charles County. You should be able to find her number from some old threads about wedding cakes.

Very attractive and delicious cakes!

La Plata Bakery beside Domino's......hands down they are the best!

The other night, GF said something sexist to me about the song I chose to have on Myspace (apparently guys can't have a Taylor Swift song...:lmao:)...ANYWHO...I told her that her opinion is valued but to get back in the kitchen :yay:

If I can get away with that one while she is PMSing...I'd say we have a pretty strong relationship :yay: :lol: (and for the record...she is a bangin cook :lol:)
