I am in the early stages of planning my daughters 2nd birthday party. Last year we did Gilbert run. That is an option this year too. Anyone have any ideas? I don't really want to do it at home..just easier to go somewhere.

She is too young for this but i have a great idea for my kids this year. We are having a fishing party! There is a lake right by the house so we are having the kids come with fishing pole (we have some extra's if they don't have one) and parents. I think this will be great because it will encourage a nice family outing and involvement from parents in something the kids will really enjoy. Then we are coming back here for cake and ice cream. My kids are very excited to be going fishing with all their friends.

That is a great idea.
Last year we did the whole picnic, play ground, fishing etc. But it was mostly for the adults.

She is young so it's kind of tough.

I was looking into the Lil Gym..I think they do birthday parties just not sure if she is too young???

Yes, they do parties. I doubt she is too young for that. At two years old though I would stick with just a party at the house. Seriously, two year olds really don't understand that whole concept anyways and it might be overwhelming for them. How many kids are you inviting and what are the ages?

In November I had Party Animal Adventures come to my house for my 2 year old. He loved it and so did the other kids. The adults also really enjoyed the show. We had the party at our house and the petting zoo lasted about an hour in our front yard (luckily it was a nice day for November) They give all the kids a pic with the animals, put on an informative fun show, then let kids feed the sheep, goats, rabbits, ducks. They bring hand sanitizer if you are worried about that. The show also includes lizards, snakes, spiders, camen, turtles, hedgehog, and a wallaby. It was so much fun. My 2 year old loved it. It was nice because most of party was outside and everyone was entertained. I had boys and girls at the party ages 1-5 and they all loved it. One little girl said it was the best party she had ever been to. Even my adult neighbors had fun. The number is 301-997-0144

Not sure about the National Zoo, but the Baltimore Zoo does birthdays! I know this for a fact, we went last weekend and I saw the signs.

How is the Baltimore Zoo? I've never been. We've always gone to DC.
Not nearly as many animals, but I really liked it. There is ALOT more things for kids to do interaction wise. You are alot closer to many of the animals and the trails are shady and beautiful. There is a petting zoo also where the kids can go in with the goats and brush them. Very cool Giraffe (sp?) area.

Not alot that a 2 year old can do. I'm having my son's 2nd at home. I've heard of ppl having their kid's parties at Hyperspace but my son is too young and I am not paying for him to be left out of the activities. So, unless you want to go the McD's route, have it at home and save the money. :yay:

You'll like the Baltimore Zoo much better. But, I do not think that it's a good idea for a bday party. Too crowded and it's asking alot on your family members to deal with the drive/traffic on a weekend. :yay:

I must agree with you there. You have to go through the ghetto to get there. At least we did.
