Blacks more racist than Whites, say Americans to Rasmussen

A new poll from Rasmussen Reportsfinds that Americans, by a majority, see Blacks as more racist than Whites.

There’s a Black Lives Matter protest message just waiting to happen.

This is hardly the line of thought the left would have believed — or that wants believed, for that matter. There’s money to be made in victimhood; there are careers — political careers, nonprofit careers, activist careers and more — to be made in racism.

“Black people can’t be racist,” wrote Pambazuka News, an outlet that describes itself as a voice for “freedom and justice.”

And this, from Medium, a recent headline: “Can Black People Be Racist?”

The writer’s answer: “Racism can only exist when one group has power and influence over another. Black people have often been accused of being racist by the very people who were racist to them. The issue with calling a Black person racist is that Black people, by definition, cannot be racist.”

Oh.

Hmm.

Somebody tell America.

rac·ism
noun
1. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
"a program to combat racism"
2. the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another.

Nothing in there that claims power or influence is required for racism. I call BS on the writer's answer. In fact, it appears they are practicing racism with their response.

I typically use the word "bigoted" or "prejudiced" because the word racist has taken on a whole 'nother meaning to those using it as a weapon.

To those who use it - a black person CANNOT be racist, because he lives in a larger SYSTEM that assists it - a white person cannot be the VICTIM of racism, because wherever he goes, there's a law enforcement agency, a court, a society that will not apply it to him.

Whether you AGREE with it or not - referring to black hatred for whites is moot, because far too many do not believe it is "racist".

____

However ---

This kind of rationale gives blacks who already have misgivings about white people complete carte blanche to hate at will without guilt or remorse. It allows people to hate someone based on the color of their skin and feel it is justified. THIS is why I can't support that approach. It's like telling a fat person their obesity is genetic - maybe it IS, but it usually results in that person showing NO responsibility for their weight problem.

It makes it WORSE.

I prefer my approach. I have two daughters who are different races and a son with special needs - I have EXTENSIVE racial differences throughout my extended family. I have gay relatives. About the only group not represented in my family is Jews, and they've always been among my closest FRIENDS.

I am not "color-blind" -

But I don't CARE. It makes no difference to me. I have an aunt who believes in astrology - it doesn't make me think she is less intelligent because one conversation with her, you'll know she is more intelligent than YOU will ever be. I think that makes my point - I don't care. You can do and believe what you want - what matters to me is how you treat ME and other people. You can look different, you can talk different - treat me with the same regard you'd do anyone else, and I will return. I feel my relationships are close enough, I can ASK the awkward questions sometimes, because they trust me as well. The differences aren't inviisible - but a person's skin color is of no more importance than their language, culture, upbringing, lefthandedness, religion, disability, baldness and so on.

It does not matter. So I am repulsed by the idea that anyone would think it is OK to hate someone over it.

I agree.

However, this thought has been around for at least 30 years - it's not going away. If you want to disbelieve that power must exist behind racism for it to exist, you will not convince someone with a dictionary definition, especially if they feel personally victimized by it.

Call it anything you like. Blacks hate whites a lot more that whites hate blacks

Yet they get away with it.

You don't have to look at the Congressional Black Caucus very long to find the evidence.

The races are different. If Ivy League schools only admitted students by merit, Harvard would resemble part Chinatown, part Mumbai West.

Blacks have been conditioned by our pop culture and education system to hate white people, whereas white people have been conditioned to think of blacks as... well, it used to be that we were supposed to think of them as just normal everyday people going about their lives, but now young white mush minds are being told that all black people are saints who should be revered, even when they're thug criminal rapists murderers.

This race problem was created and perpetuated by the news media and our politicians who benefit from the chaos. Absent them, everyone is fine.

I am not sure I agree that it is pop culture and education, although that may be a part of it.
I believe they get most of it in the home from racist parents.

But I do agree that if the media would lighten up on it and the politicians and race baiters making a living off it stopped stirring it up every thing would be fine.
