11:53 PM 21895 Pegg Rd. Lexington Park Senior Apartments.
Bldg Fire.
Units arriving report fire out with Sprinkler system activation
11:55 FD requesting key to mechanical room so they can deactivate the sprinklers. Fire Board trying to come up with a key holder.
11:56 FD requesting available units to help escort occupants out of the apartments.
11:58 FD reports keyholder on the scene.
11:59 FD reports fire was in a stove. Activated 1 sprinkler head. No extensions.
12:01 FD working on getting 2 Water Vacs to second floor to help with a clean up. Also advises Occupant is supposedly in the Hospital, prior to this incident. FD advises stove have a pan of French Fries in the stove cooking. Other units advises need to open up several units as water getting into them also water coming through the first floor ceilings.
12:08 Apperantly the occupant's son was still in the premises. Cooking French Fries, caught the grease on fire and extinguished in the sink but too late as it activated the sprinkler.
12:18 FD advises need for getting more water vacs started.
12:19 FD made face to face contact with occupant. Occupant is uninjured. Smoke venting still in progress.
12:20 Mimimal smoke on the 3rd floor. No apparent damage.
12:21 Squad 7 being dispatched for more vacs.
12:26 Another water vac coming from Station 3. 1st Floor crew advises still water coming through the ceiling.
12:26 Squad 7 marks up with staffing of 4.
12;27 Apartment 233 is only damaged apartment on 2nd floor. 255 has minimal water damage.
12:49 Cleanup still underway but apparently winding down.
12:51 Occupants of bldg now released to return to their apartments. All except the Fire Apartment and the one below it.
12:53 FD units advising starting to wrap it up.
01:03 COMMAND advises Command has been terminated. All units can return to service. Maintenance staff has been advised the sprinkler system has been secured and will maintain a firewatch throughout the night.
