Blue tilapia

I got 1 of these the other evening. It hit a crankbait. It's the 2nd time I caught this species of fish. The other time I got 1 off of a bed with a jig. They are like bluegills on steroids.

I saw a few gar swimming around. I'd love to hook into 1 of those things.

NE Florida. They are all over the place but rarely bit a lure. Fish & game says to not return them to the lake as they are invasive species.

They are like bluegills on steroids.

Maybe because its the only fish I've had in a while. No one else eats it in my house so I have to eat what I can get. Only recently did my wife start getting it. I don't think it's too bad, better than nothing. Hopefully I can introduce her to some rockfish lol
