What kind of bird is it that is totally blue about the size of a goldfinch, and its not the Eastern bluebird this bird is entirely blue.

Thanks folks, after checking out the 2 suggestions as to what it was, Ive come to the conculsion it was the Indigo Bunting (male) after reading about it Im really surprised Ive never seen any around my place, I saw the one I saw yesterday over at my sons house in the Huntersville area of Mechcanicsville and as the crow flys or a indigo bunting would fly Im proably 3 air miles away.
Very pretty bird.
