Bluetooth for TVs

I've been looking up devices for attaching to TVs which don't have Bluetooth (which is pretty much all of them) so I can use wireless headsets to the TV.
Besides at night - or when wife wants to sleep - there are definitely times when I'd like to hear it and cancel out everything ELSE in the room.

I know they EXIST - has anyone tried it? How has it worked out for you?

Just sneakin' around....
Nearly all TVs have an audio-out jack for external audio connections. Just get a set of headphones and a long cord. There may be an option in the TV setup to change the TV output from "LINE" to "HEADPHONE" or similar.

Oh, missed that you want wireless....

I got a few variants for my dad to do the same thing. They work pretty well, good response. The ones I bought had a base for the headphones that was also a charger. Just drop the headset in place and it charges.

What is the make/model of the tv?

Pretty much looking for ANY of my TVs that have an audio jack. I know they make devices that hook into the jack - and then are powered to broadcast by Bluetooth. The only drawback I have heard for some of these devices is latency - there's a delay for some of them, which can be jarring and personally - useless to me for almost anything.

The Roku Ultra has a remote with a headphone jack, plug any head phones in it and the sound on the TV goes off.

Oddly my TCL Roku TV does not have this feature.

Up. Identified. Lase. Fire. On the way.
I use a Taotronic adapter for exactly the same purpose. Found it on Amazon. The exact model I use is no longer available, but this one is:
[link doesn't work]

Okay, so go to Amazon and search for this ASIN: B098S2HDT5

It's a generic product that used to be branded by Taotronics, as well.

Hope this helps/points you in the right direction.

Something like this:

I've been trying that out with different headsets - so far, the only one I've got working is the one that comes with that device.
It works ok, but the noise level is pretty high. Ok, if you're watching sports, but not good if say, listening to music.

Sorry to hear that. I've had pretty good luck with some in the past, but that was a while ago.

It's possible you're getting noise from other wireless devices. They all use 2.4 Ghz, which is used by a ton of wireless devices; your WiFi, portable phones, etc....
