Boater Safety Course?

Club'nBabySeals

Where are my pants?
Does anyone know where one might sign up for/complete a boaters safety course in Southern Maryland (preferrably the St. Mary's area)?

Info would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

My husband & I took the mandatory boater safety coarse @ CSM Leonardtown. We couldn't even complete the sale of our boat until we had our boater safety card in hand. I wouldn't say the class was terribly exciting, but it was mildly enlightening since the teacher kept talking about dredging bodies from the water (usually the hook snags the groin area) & what happens when you drown & how getting caught by the propeller can rip your arm off & all manner of other things.

How refreshing... :dead:

:phew:!!! I was starting to panic thinking this was a new law or something and I'd have to take a course... luckily my DOB is before 1972 - but the online boating course does sound like fun. Did you or anyone else actually learn anything one doesn't already know firsthand from any of these courses?

I took a course several years ago in case BH got hurt while we were boating and I had to drive the boat back in. It was absolutely the most boring class I have yet to take. The instructor was sombody off base and I think my pencil had more personality than he did. What a bore!! I couldn't even finish it. Good Luck, though. I think if you get the right teacher, you'll enjoy it.

I'm not really going there to learn anything I don't already know---just need the certificate to avoid those pesky $500 fines for being caught without one.

Tonnage prevails. :yay:
