Boating / Kayaking GPS Systems

I'm just getting started in Kayaking here in Southern Maryland and I've seen how easy it is to get lost not knowing your exact point of entry and coming back to the same exact spot. So can anyone tell me what kinds of GPS Systems that you allready use that works well for this type of boating.

I enjoy Kayaking in the Potomac and many small rivers that are not even listed I'm sure so I would need something that would be able to detect exactly where I'm at all the time, whether it's Kayaking or walking around in the woods going off the trail.:yeahthat:

Any hand held GPS should work. You can set it to leave a "trail" on the screen. All you'd have to do is follow the trail back. Garmin is good.

Hi Explorerman,
Want to get together and paddle with others in SO MD? There are maybe 5 or 6 people my hubby and I know who'd like to form a group of flat water paddlers for day trips in the area.
