Is there anyone in the area that buys/sells used hard/paper back books?

There's one in Prince Frederick. It's in the Fox Run shopping center near the Peebles I think.

Well, if you're looking to buy used books -- don't overlook the public libraries -- they always have books for sale, I found a good paperback there for about 15 cents once. :yay:

I like Fenwick's and Second Look. Ellie's is good too, but I don't like their buying policy. They give you store credit for used books, and you can use the credit for only half the cost of any purchase. I understand that the store has to make money, but that kind of setup seems unnecessarily frustrating. Most other used book stores give you a small amount of cash per book, in amounts that are less than Ellie's store credit. I prefer that approach.

The reason that stores do the half credit/ half cash is that our landlords won't accept store credit in leiu of cash for rent. At the end of the day there has to be cash flow or stores will go out of business! Thanks for your compliment, Tonio!

You're welcome. The rent issue definitely makes sense. I would rather that the stores not do credit at all. As a customer, I would rather get, say, $1 in cash for a hardcover instead of $2 in store credit that's only worth $1 on new purchases.
