What this means is to stop using, or to never call, Boothe’s Heating, Air & Plumbing. They are now owned or controlled by an equity firm, Leonard Green & Partners ("LGP"), and through an acquisition, "partnered" with Booth's. Anyone that worked for Booth's, is now an employee of Wrench Group, LLC, that is owned by an equity firm.

Had a friend needing a new ac/heat pump system because his failed. They wanted nearly $9000 to swap it, bottom pricing, 14 SEER like for like, using the current copper refrigerant lines. He went online and found he could buy the unit, Rheem, he was quoted for, $2300-/+, retail, for the compressor unit and the indoor air handler. A gross margin of over $6000. No way it costs $6000 to replace an ac/heat pump system.

Deal with the real local ac and heating companies.

After going behind them for several " units they condemned " which only had a defective contactor or capacitor I have concluded that .
A. Their employees don't know how to troubleshoot an HVAC problem.
B. Or they go out of their way to condemn a system in hopes of selling you a new one .

Either way they are on my list to never use.

I did feel like I got Rheem'd by the Rheem they sold me, but the work performed was excellent and the new unit is saving me over $500 a year over the past two years. I probably could have gotten a better deal locally, but I was desperate and they were available. They loaned me some window units until the work was done which was nice.
