"It was horrible," said her mother, Mary (not her real name).
"When it first happened, they were blaming us," said Mary, who has more than one grown daughter. "They were saying 'it was your boyfriend' and then 'it was your daughter's boyfriend.' They put the blame on you," she said. "We were telling police and the social workers 'it can't be us.'" And it wasn't."
DNA tests that police obtained proved that 70-year-old Kenneth Allan fathered the child after Mary's daughter was lured by Carol Iverson, a 53-year-old Child and Family Services respite care worker who was convicted of sexual assault last Friday.
