This is so sad. What a horrible thing to have happened.

Investigators said a 10-year-old boy playing goalkeeper for the Winchester United under-11 team was positioned in the goal on a Millbrook High School soccer field. Coaches said action was taking place on the other side of the field when they heard a loud crash.

Police said the goal toppled over on him, killing him. They are investigating how the goal fell over.

Gosh, I don't get how something like that could happen.

It's unreal, don't people check these things out. They should be inspected or something.

Portable goals are supposed to be anchored to the ground at all times, according to Law 1 of FIFA's Laws of the Game.

I've seen many games where 10 year old boys will hang on the crossbar. If the goal isn't securely fastened to the ground or properly counterweighted, the goal will come down on top of whoever is hanging on the bar.

...this happened before within the past three or four years. Don't know they ever found out why the thing fell on the kid.
