Boy pleads guilty to stepmum toothpaste peanut plan | News.com.au
A 12-year-old boy put peanuts in his stepmother's tube of toothpaste after learning she was highly allergic to them, a court has been told.
The boy, who is now 14 and cannot be identified, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane today to one count of attempted taking of a noxious thing with intent to harm.
Prosecutor David Finch told the court the incident took place in early 2010 when the boy was visiting his father and his new partner in Brisbane.
The court heard the boy, who usually lives in NSW with his biological mother, had learned his stepmother suffered an anaphylactic reaction if exposed to peanuts.
He told his younger brother he intended to put a peanut in her food.
The brother reported the plan to his father, who spoke to the boy about the serious consequences of his intended actions.
