Boys See "Masculinity" As A Dirty Word

Worth the read:

For those who believe the patriarchy is the root of much evil in the world, these numbers are probably cause for celebration. But perhaps not. While young men are giving up on their manhood, women still seem to want it.

As Annie asked, “Where have all the good men gone?” Well, they’ve been beaten down. Many of them lack a strong father at home, having been raised by a single mother. The education system does little to nothing to help boys grow into good men. On TV, in movies, and in commercials, when do they see a strong, virtuous male? Only two come close to the traditional portrayals of strong, men. One is Captain America. And even he is a super hero, not a real man. Yet we can see just how much things have changed by how his mannerisms and language stand out compared to a Tony Stark or any other male character. He is both refreshing and an anachronism. Chris Kyle of American Sniper is another. But he, too, strikes the modern senses as a relic of a different age.

Disagree with the article/article's author, but this chart is from a UK YouGov survey. Unbelievable.

Wonder if a number of the males they interviewed just had a negative feeing because they themselves were not masculine. Jealous?

And on the other hand, men have been emasculated by the #metoo movement and afraid to show any balls. Literally and figuratively.

Watched a few shows on AHC, one was about the Korean war. Several old vets they interviewed lied about their age,(as did my father in WWII) to be able to enlist. Listening to them talk about their experiences and the hell they went through, I cant imagine some of the young men today, would be up to the challenge.

This is too funny. I reckon I could be considered an alpha male. And yet, when I share stories, such as about the ID card issue, I'm a trouble maker. I call it standing your ground. Or being true to one's self. And I make no apologizes for it. Now, while everyone might have a different definition, opinion, or experiences, of what being, or what, a man, is, to me, it is not taking any crap or following some stupid policies that in the end are meant to subdue a person's thoughts or actions and change behavior because of group think. Real men, in my most humble opinion, tell them, such as in the ID situation, to go f-ck off. In my case, figuratively, but in a nice way.
