I had a ribeye on the Weber a few nights ago. Just because it's a good cut of beef, doesn't make them all equal. It was edible, but only because I barely cooked it. Being in the deep freeze for months probably didn't help any. Fresh is always better, but this steak was a waste of time and money. Maybe I'll pick one up when I go shopping for Mommy Dearest later today.

Steaks are out of my price range right now and getting worse. Pretty soon
hamburger will be too.
Steak is definitely a splurge meal any more, but sometimes you just have to say WTF.

Just sneakin' around....

I still have bunch of ribeyes and t-bones that I got back when things got scarce at the beginning of the pandemic. Think I used up my 2020 stock, now working on 2021/2022. Vacuum sealed everything and it's still just as good as when I put it away. Not a bit of freezer burn or off flavor.

Any meat from the freezer sucks, IMO..

These steaks weren't very good to start with, but Mommy Dearest individually wrapped them in plastic wrap and then they all went into freezer bags. It wasn't so much the freezing as it was the quality to begin with.

I got a vacuum sealer for Christmas with 6 extra rolls of bags. I can't wait until the perch start biting again.

I feel badly...the Black Angus we just got from Earl a month ago or so was 930# hung weight. That's a lotta steaks...
Whaterya sayin'? I can ride by this weekend if you don't have the room for the whole thing.

Don't cry for me Argentina. I'm not a big beef or pork eater any more. I had to buy Bob Evans sausage today, because I ran out of the good stuff for my sausage gravy. I wonder if they still sell it at that country store in Charlotte Hall.
