BREAKING NEWS: AP reports North Korea may have conducted a 2nd nuclear test

TOKYO - North Korea appears to have conducted another nuclear test, Japanese national broadcaster NHK said on Wednesday.

Japanese government sources had information that there was a tremor in North Korea this morning and they were checking on the possibility of a nuclear test, NHK said.

You might not be that far off in your thinking. They haven't been too successful in their previous missile testing ventures. The last one they tried, with an ICBM type payload, lasted about 45 seconds before it had to be destroyed.

Their track record has much to be desired. A lot of posturing so far, it seems.

That's what's going to solve it. I don't think we'll have to intervene. NK is trying to show that they are the big dog and don't need China. China is eventually going to roll over them like a bad stepchild.

A jittery Japan has apparently mistaken earthquake activity off its own coast for a tremor indicating a second nuclear test in North Korea.

Japan's NHK news service first reported the tremor Wednesday, quoting a Japanese government source saying that it appeared to indicate North Korea had undertaken another nuclear test, just two days after conducting a test that sparked international condemnation.

The United States now has preliminary evidence of radioactivity from North Korea's nuclear test ground, indicating it did indeed carry out a test, a U.S. official tells CNN.
