Loving My Life...
Why would they spare his life? So what if hes sorry for what he did (If he ever says that). He didn't think about what he did to his wife and unborn child. He killed 2 ppl and he should die

IMO why does it take so long to put someone to death? once found guilty and sent to death row it should take place within a week....

I am going to leave this question and then head off to bed.

If Scott Petersen was found to have premeditatively killed his wife, that was carrying the near full-term child, why wasn't it the same crime for the resultant death of the child?

I have been thinking about this too... I draw the following conclusion:

Everything I have ever heard was about Lacey: the phone cons with Amber, the conversations with his family and with Lacey's family, he very rarely ever mentioned his unborn child. That in itself was strange to me. Here we have a first-time father who knows he is about to have a son. They even named him already. A normal expectation would of been for him to have already been emotionally attached to Conner and even if he didn't love his wife, he should of still be devistated and carrying on at the loss of his child. Think of all the first-time dad's you know. By the 8th month they are hugging that belly, talking to that kid and knowing you are about to have your first son... wow, you can't wait to get your hands on him! Scott never seemed to acknowledge losing his son. He planned to get rid of his wife. He then acted on those plans. Connor just happened to conveniently die along with her. Killing and getting rid of Lacey before Connor's birth, allowed him to not have to acknowledge Connor's true existence.
