Breton Bay

yeah yeah
Hey Henry- First off, let me tell you, that I think it is awesome the stuff you are finding out. I am learning so much more about this county than I thought.

My parents live in breton bay. Where their house sits, they were told that it was part of the slave quarters from when breton bay use to be a plantation. (granted this is heresay from a person who apparently had family who owned breton bay before it was a development).

The reason I ask this, is because some strange things have been found in my parents back yard, down in the gully area. (old tin coffee cups, that are obviously old, mailboxes that are so worn, but you can vaugely make out a name scratched on it with a rock or hard object, etc etc.) I was just wondering if this could be confirmed or denied, and if so that we can maybe find as to what or where these things are from (time era).

If you are coming into breton bay, they live before the top of society hill, after the "3 bears house" as it it is called (the one where the 3 brothers with the different level house is) and on the left side.

Whenever you could get back- I would be interested in knowing.

Thank you.

Also, I wanted to add this...

From what I was told also, was that breton bay was split up into two plantations- the one from society hill down- was run by one family and the other half which is above society hill was another. Is this true? Wanted to get the hearsay cleared up, just for my currious information. Thanks again

Uncle Charlie

Beer is Good!!!!
I live in Breton Bay and

I have been here for 40 years. I know most of the TRUE history and, as I was the 10th house out here, I watched the rest of them get built.

Where exactly do your parents live? Are they on Bull Road, or in the "woods?"

Let me know what road they are on and put me just about exactly on the spot. The house just past the three bears house is Lloyd Cusics, is that whose house you speak of? Or is it further down.

Give me some good specisifcs and I'll let you know. There were some slave quarters and share croppers in Breton Bay but none of them lived where you are talking about.

If you give me some more specific info, I'll clue you in.
