Brown biting flies......

WTH? things are a PITA. sorta like houseflies, but brown and biting. Seem worse this year. Anyone know for sure if normal bug spray keeps them off?

Deer flies probably. Deep woods should work.

Deer flies. We have them really bad here on the island every year around this time; haven't noticed this year's crop being any worse than normal. Cutters and Deep Woods Off is what I use. They still buzz around and land but don't stay long enough to bite.

Yeah, that's possible, but no hat I know of covers my arms I'll keep some Cutters near the door.

I'm serious though. A hat, especially with a wide rim really helps. I think they go for the highest point on their target victim and land and BITE. I don't go outside at home without at least a ball cap and only occasionally get bothered.

It does reduce the annoyance factor by a considerable amount, I agree. By about 70% or better.

My husband bought some fly repellent strips for his hat. He uses them when he is running. Not sure where he got them, but they work. They are similar to what I found on Amazon.
