"OCCUPIED JERUSALEM — Israeli rabbis are threatening US President George W. Bush of divine punishment if he did not scrap an upcoming US-sponsored Mideast peace conference, saying Hurricane Katrina and California fires were God's punishment for America.

"We wrote to President Bush, a man who believes in the Bible, to warn him against the terrible danger to which he is exposing his country by hosting such a conference," Rabbi Meir Druckman told Israel radio on Monday, November 5.

The letter, signed by eight rabbis, threatens Bush that "God punishes anyone who wants to force Israel to give up its land."

You can say a lot of things about George Bush ,but you have to admit he doesnt scare easy.

Do I really believe these 8 Rabbi's are qualified to say what is in God's mind?? I do not.

If God punishes anyone who tries to force Israeli's to give up their land , Who did He punish when the Jews gave back Gaza.

Bush said he asked Jesus for guidance about invading Iraq. Why is he any different than a band of crackpot Rabbis? If it had been eight evangelical Christians, they would have had him eating out of their hands.

 This is a widespread Christian error that if anyone goes against the Jews or against Isreal then they will be cursed by God.

It is not true and it is not correct.

Most Christians will not tell this as they preach in favor of Israel and ignore the injustices that are done to the Palestinians based on that wrong interpretation of the Bible texts.

So, those eight rabbis are preaching widespread Christian errors?

Reading comprehension. I beg you.

And, those injustices.... They don't exist. There was no "Palestinian state". Ever. When the Ottoman Empire was on the losing side, British authorities promised part of the land for a Jewish settlement. That's what happens in war. That's how we took half of Mexico - we won a war. So, an itty bitty bit of land, smaller than Maryland, became Isreal. Some of it was to be a Palestinain state, for the first time ever. The Arabs hatred of Jews overrode their ability to accept ANY land for Israel, so the issue kept getting bogged down in the League of Nations (or is that the Ivy League? The IV League? Who knows.... oops, wrong thread ). WWII came around, and the world was in turmoil. So, after the LoN was replaced by the UN, and still nothing was accomplished, Isreal took the portion of land that was set aside for them - not the part set aside for Palestine, mind you, just the part that was set aside for them - and called it a sovereign nation, as promised 30-odd years earlier. True to their nature, the Arab states attacked Isreal, with the intent to kill the rest of the Jews. Not being able to do that, Israel said "screw you guys, I'm going home" and recovered what they could, as well as a little more here and there in the ongoing war. Palestine has been able to be a separate state for a long, long time, but bickering is maintained to maintain the ability to "justify" slowly killing more and more Jews with "protests", like suicide bombings. Note, nowhere in here has there ever been a Palestinian state, for there to be any Palestinians to harm.

Refute what I say with facts, or STFU about "injustices" to the Palestinians.

Can you really not see the difference between self-reflection through prayer and "warning" others of "God's will"? Or, can you see it but don't care, because it's another chance to smear someone indirectly through baseless inuendo?

How long is a camp called a refugee camp. 30---40 years. If you are a refugee in a camp for 30 years you are home friend, make the best of it.

 When an injustice continues for so many years then the people give up hope and they strike back in any way available to them.

It is not the first injustice that keeps going onward, and surely not the last, but this great injustice still today fuels the acts of resistance that many people call terrorism.

Some people will try to dismiss the long standing injustices but many of us do not, and we believe that God does not ignore it either.

Too bad there is no injustice to justify the word.

Those people are called "sane", and "in touch with reality".

I thought it was a Christian myth spread by Jewish rabbis. Isn't that what you said earlier? You really need to get your disconnect with reality straight.
