Well, the Nation is a far-left rag, and the WorldNetDaily is a far-right fundamentalist rag. I don't believe either one.

I HATE all the "Bush Lied" BS. :burning: First, maybe everyone should be reminded of the definition of lie - "to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive". Let's take 'em one by one:

"Lie #1--They Attacked Us: Iraq Supported Al Qaeda" - The authors must have missed where the admin said before the war that Iraq was not involved in 9/11 and I never saw any implications of Iraq's involvement. Maybe they should point one out. Quotes are easy to find.

"Lies #2 and #3--Imminent Threats: Iraq's Bio-Chem and Nuclear Weapons Programs" - Bush never said Iraq was an "imminent threat". Everyone that had access to to intel believed that Iraq still had WMDs...including France and Germany.

"Lie #4--It Will Be Easy: Iraq as a "Cakewalk." - Name a war that went more smoothly.

"Lie #5--The Moral Justification: Iraq as a Democratic Model" - I still can't really find whatever the authors are calling a lie. But to refute the argument they make, the US had factions when it was created. That's why we have states. We had a civil war because the southern states wanted more autonomy. Does that mean we don't have a good democratic government?

The editor who wrote the anti Bush diatribe also wrote a bitter denunciation against Mel Gibson and the Passion. Talk about out in left field.
Bush Lies? Oh? Nowhere does this bent liberal address the resolutions out of the UN...Nowhere does he address the endless firing on coalition aircraft in the "no fly zones"
How about the remote control drone that was not allowed by the UN?
How about Iraq's shadowing and spying on the inspection teams?
How about the 747 mock up used for terrorist training out in the desert?
How about the super cannon that Saddam was building..was the UN ok with that?
I could go on...It was the UN that demanded action then in the fine tradition of the League of Nations, backed away from action-cowardly refusing to back up their resolutions. Bush and the coalition of the willing acted..thus freeing 25,000,000.

This is the action of a fraudulent liar? Oh?
So SuperGrover...lets practice the letter "C" today ok?

Lie #1--They Attacked Us: Iraq Supported Al Qaeda.

Lies #2 and #3--Imminent Threats: Iraq's Bio-Chem and Nuclear Weapons Programs.

Lie #4--It Will Be Easy: Iraq as a "Cakewalk."

Lie #5--The Moral Justification: Iraq as a Democratic Model.

I fully agree, that these are the lies. Not told by Bush, but the myth spread by those that cannot think for themselves.

Lie #1: Training camps allowed to exist in one’s backyard constitute support. Do you honestly believe that these camps could have existed without Hussein’s knowledge? You think the Patriot Act is intrusive, try a little good old fashion Iraqi intrusion, he knew they were there and thus supported them, cause he sure as sh!t didn’t make them leave.

Lie #2 and #3: Not only was Iraq an imminent threat (we do know that they had the material and the ability to make more, that they had shown that they were quite willing to use it (just ask the Kurds and Iranians), and they did have an ongoing desire to enter the nuclear arena) they actively engaged in an effort to kill coalition aviators conducting UN sanctioned operations around the no-fly zones.

Lie #4: Cakewalk? Rumsfeld said that? I am certain if he ever uttered such a phrase it was taken out of context. But then again, if you look at it compared to many other operations our military has had the pleasure (sic) of experiencing, honestly, that isn’t that far off base. Yep, we’ve lost valuable people, but it was war and that happens. Overall it was and still is a significant military achievement. How many do you think we would have lost in 1991 if we just kept going? How many in the mid to late 90s if we just did something instead of letting this continue to fester? Could we have gotten this over with a long time ago and maybe changed events that led to 9/11?

Lie #5: The Moral Justification was never about creating a Democratic Model. It was about getting rid of this fungus that contaminated that nation. The one that had been threatening revenge from 1991 and swore death to our leaders, the one that never once complied fully with the requirements for that conflict to be considered ended or any of the many that followed giving him chance upon chance to meet the requirements the world placed upon him (notice I use world because it was the world that said this to our one time ally and not us alone), and the one that, quite frankly, bit off more then he could chew. Though I will admit that he held on to what he had bitten for 13 long painful years.

All I keep saying is...

...read the Iraqi War Resolution and there endeth the discusion.

Bush is honest. He told the truth. We did the right thing. Even Sen. Kerry in voting for it.
