Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg addressed a crowd that was protesting the fatal shooting of a black man by a white police officer in South Bend, Indiana.

Shocked, I tell ya. Shocked.

That he's in South Bend actually doing the job he was elected and is getting paid to do.

Not picking on "Mayor Pete" specifically; rather using this as an example for all the folks seeking the next elective office while being paid for the one they're already in (and should be doing).

I never went on a job interview on my current employers time. I don't understand how politicians get away with it. Maybe I should announce my run for president and not show up to work at 7:00 tomorrow morning.
