As it was a theft, which is a misdemeanor based on the amount, she would be subject to a fine of up to $500 and up to 18 months in jail if handled by the law. Maybe starting with 18 months of grounding might be the route to take as it mirrors the law. If she admits to doing so and makes full apologies to all that it has impacted you could give her a little time off and of course revisit your sentence to account for future good or bad behavior.

See that's the best part, you can repeat yourself over and over and over...until you're blue in the face and they squirm in their seat.

Then, next time when they think about doing something wrong, in the back of their head is this little voice that says "4 hour lecture" so they really think twice about it and the punishment to follow.

WHINING and playing with her food. When she flung the piece of ham across the room I had it. Not very tolerant, I know.

I let her come to her senses and come out and finish. :lol:
