C.I.A. Admits It Destroyed Tapes of Harsh Interrogations

"WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 — The Central Intelligence Agency in 2005 destroyed at least two videotapes documenting the interrogation of two Al Qaeda operatives in the agency’s custody, a step it took in the midst of Congressional and legal scrutiny about the C.I.A’s secret detention program, according to current and former government officials.

The videotapes showed agency operatives in 2002 subjecting terror suspects — including Abu Zubaydah, the first detainee in C.I.A. custody — to severe interrogation techniques."

The CIA is supposedly an agency that is secret in that they have secrets, they handle secret information, their operatives identities are supposedly secet, what they do is secret, their missions are dipped in secrecy. Tapes are destroyed. How did anyone even know of thse tapes, How did the information that they existed come out, that they had been destroyed, that high levels ordered the destroyed.

As a secret agency, the CIA is more like a sieve than a closed shop. they have more leaks than the Water Department in Washington DC. they leak worse than the storm sewers. What kind of secret agency can get their work done when everything they do is told to the media as it is being done.?

Lets start putting some of these "secret leakers" in jail; It isnt up to a keeper of a secret to decide on their own who has a need to know and spill their guts. It isnt a matter of politics or whistleblowing, its a matter of National Security.

If there is a whistleblower in the CIA he should have that whistle shoved up his azz, it is his sworn duty to keep his mouth shut. Shut to Media,to Senators , to Congressmen, to anyone,until it is decided by upper echelon to de-classify that secret. In fact it sems that politicians are the biggest leakers of the secrets they have been let in on.
