Cabin rental in the mountains?

Does anyone know of any good locations for cabin rentals in the mountains? Either Blue Ridge or Rockies. We'd love it to be nice and private, but within reasonable driving distance to a town with lots to do.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks! :flowers:

Try the Poconos, we went there a couple years back and it was great.
Ill try to get the name of the place we stayed.
but, it was more like a town house, two stories, 3 bedroom 2 bath large screened in balcony, jacuzzi in the master bath.

Was it right next to other houses? We'd love to be totally hidden.

Cowgirl, there are LOTS of choices!! I really like Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO.COM). We've rented from them several times now and had no problems. You're renting a home with all the amenities! We have done Front Royal, Luray, and even the Smokies in North Carolina!! Rent is much lower than going through a real estate office, because it's an owner renting out their vacation home. All across the US and even overseas. All you have to do is know the general area you want and Voila!! Try it! :huggy:

it was right next to them. but we used it as a launch pad to see everything around. did hiking, biking and various other activities.
if you are looking to be secluded it may not be the best.

another choice would be the cheat river, they are more like cabins and more secluded.
hot tubs on the decks, and an easy walk to the river.

wish I would have known about it sooner.
I was just there in June, I would have rented that instead of using the camper for that week.

by the way, that is one incredible area that it is in.

I've always wanted to go to Jackson Hole. It looks absolutely beautiful. This is for our honeymoon. We originally wanted to drive across the country with a pop-up, but I just don't think we'll be able to afford gas. :ohwell:

to give you an idea, we pulled a 35ft trailer across in June. I have a diesel so was paying between 4.79 and 4.49 a gallon. total trip was 6100 miles.
we averaged 11.6 mpg on the trip.
