Who decides franchises for Cable TV companies in Calvert County?? The Board of Commissioners?
My point, I'm utterly dissatisfied with COMCAST and how they have implemented their Digital Transition. I do NOT like Satellite and the requirement to use STB's with every TV, BUT COMCAST and their now Proprietary Service is so bad, Satellite is a huge improvement.
BUT, I have NO choice for internet, and as soon as I cancelled TV service, they jacked up the price of Internet by 33%.
Of course everyone thinks they should pay less for what they get, I would have less of a problem paying as much as I do, if I had a choice and knew the price was being driven by competition.
So, who do I write to and demand the Franchising in Calvert County be opened up to other companies and NOT exclusively COMCAST? As well, that the franchising rules and terms are being set to assure a level playing field for competition and also cost effective for competitors to offer service.
