Maybe he shortened it to Snake..after he found out about the other saneaky snake. It was an unwritten rule in CB world that two people not have the same handle. My Sneaky is/was very well know in the CB world all over MD, VA, DC, well the whole east coast. not to brag or anything.
Im not really doing this to be in a pissing contest with you... I just don't remember 2 sneaky snakes... This guy was well known too, folks came from everywhere to get their radios repaired/powered up by this cat.. If im not mistaken they used to all hang out on channel 33...

Sneaky Snake
Tom T. Hall

Boys and girls take warning, if you go near the lake
Keep your eyes wide open, and look for sneaky snake
Now maybe you wont see him, maybe you wont hear
But hell sneak up behind you, and drink all your root beer

And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin
Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin
I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see
When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath

Well, sneaky snake drinks root beer, and he just makes me sick
When he is not dancin, he looks just like a stick
Now, he doesnt have any arms or legs, you cannot see his ears
And while we are not lookin, hes stealin all of our beer

And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin
Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin
I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see
When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath.

Speedy...one the topic of the CB jamborees...Do you remember the Female King, Male Queen contests. It was held at the Jamboree at the Manasas Fair Grounds. Two couples we know were contestants. One of the couples won.

It's very frightening to see your mom as a man and your dad as a women.

Chill. The "well known" thing was more for speedy's benefit.

I don't remember that one! :killingme I'll have to ask mom about that tomorrow.

I just mostly remember the dirty feet contest and running around the nursing home while the club was meeting. Once, I accidentally set off the alarm in the elevator. I meant to push the "OPEN" button to hold the door for the rest of the crew, but I hit "ALARM" instead.

I don't remember that. :bawl:

I remember my mom carrying around a box telling everyone that inside was a deadly rattler. When they looked in the box it was a baby's rattle. :ohwell: I think it was for one of the Muscular Distrophy fundraisers? People had to pay to see the 'deadly rattler'.

Yes..it was in Dunkirk in front of a realty office. they called it a "Coffee Break"
Rusty's restaurant provided the donuts and we sold candy. Ah, those were the days. Oh...I think there were a couple of those at the Safeway shopping center too. I remember asking an old guy if he wanted to buy candy to support Muscular Distrophy research and he told me to "get lost, I'm not giving $ to that". Great guy.

Trivia Time........

What was the name of the CB Club?

You're giving me a headache. I'm tempted to call mom and ask but I won't cheat.

The Calvert Cavaliers sounds familiar to me. Didn't they have blue windbreaker jackets with their name and Lord Calvert on the back?

You win the prize....The Cavalier CB Club. Blue Jackets with a round patch on the back featuring The cavalier. You have to remember the summer outfits. Bright blue vests with gold fringe trim. Oh so 70's. My sister was in a pic in the Baltimore Sun, sporting her fringed vest. All the adults and kids in the club had them. I kinda wish they were back in style. I would join a club just to wear one. :barf:
