I notice that Cafe' des Artistes won praises in the April issue of "Maryland Life" magazine. They were named one of the top seven in the State in the categories of
"finest restaurant"
"finest dining"
"finest appetizer"
"finest dessert"

The seven "finest historic downtowns" in the State were Cumberland, Ellicott City, Havre de Grace, LEONARDTOWN, Annapolis, Easton, and Berlin.

The Solomons Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum was named one of the seven best museums in the State.

Port Tobacco Players, LaPlata, was named one of the seven "finest theaters" in the State.

Hopefully some of you got there in the last month to see the religious icons painted by St. Michael's School students! SMS thanks Cafe des Artistes for allowing these icons to be displayed. We also thank them for bringing in the students last week and serving them brunch.

To see pictures of some of these beautiful icons, (which by the way have also been on display in the world famous Walters Art Museum and also in the Md. State House) visit the St. Michael's School Facebook page.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and were really impressed at how good a job the students had done on them. It was nice to look at the attention given to each one while we waited at the table.:yay:
