The helmet provides protection for your brain in the event you fall off and hit your head.

Glad you cleared that up for me, I was really confused about why helmets are used.

Doesn't look like a farm work type ATV

Thanks for pointing that out, I don't know what I would do if you weren't to spell things out for me.

You're the dummy who posted that you thought helmets were only used for jumping hills and that it was ok to ride one while pregnant! :duh:

I haven't seen the part about the ATV driver was pregnant except what was posted here. No news reports.

I would hope that she wasn't as that would take a special kind of stupid.

And if she was, lets hope he doesn't inherit mom's stupidity.

I don't see the big deal with riding a four wheeler while pregnant. You could "what if" the situation to death but what's the real harm in it if you're driving sensibly? The choice falls into the comfortability of the parent but I see no reason to judge someone negatively for chosing to do so unless they are being totally irresponsibe.

What else can't you do when you're pregnant becuase there is some risk associate with it?

Ride a bicycle? You might fall off.
Drive a car? Someone might wreck you, deploying your airbag and tightening your seatbelt.
Walk down the stairs in your house? You might fall.
Take a shower? That tub could be slippery.
Exercise? Have sex? You might bounce that placenta around.

None of the above are necessary for survival and could be considered recreational activities.

As long as you do not spill your beer, everything is fine.
