Funny that Kelly McConkey even showed up given that he lacks certain ethics and is the cause of so much turmoil regarding the comprehensive plan, voting for it while benefiting from it. Myra Gowans hinted at the lawsuits, but didn't name him directly as the cause. She should have publicly excoriated him in front of all those republicans in the room. People like McConkey, and their negative and harmful actions, need to be publicly shamed.

Ask Todd Ireland if his friends children ever recovered from the burns they suffered in the vehicle explosion. It was the PF Fire Chief's official Jeep and his pal was unauthorized joy riding-four wheeling in it when he overturned it and it burst into flame. Ole Toddy boy was instrumental in covering up the unauthorized taking and the reckless near death of those children.

And yes, I know his buddy's name too.

It was Summer 2003. The driver was a volunteer fire fighter at the PF station. The guy's wife was in the vehicle too, she had an injury to her arm.

Did a few searches online and couldn't find anything on the story. That's a couple of years before I returned to the area (and I live in CC), so I'll do a little more research.

I only know because I was an eyewitness, and I only know the names because the other eyewitness is a lifelong resident of Calvert. He would not come forward for fear of repercussions.

Yes, my younger one is. Though it was way before he became one, I asked him, and he hasn't ever heard of any incident like that. (not that it never happened) His initial reply to me was "all of our sh*t has been wrecked over the years - who knows." That's his way - his typical replies are usually somewhat witty, but sarcastic.

He'll probably sniff around and see if anything turns up. If it does, he'd tell me.

The PFVFD has never had an "Official Chief's Jeep". The Command and Chief's vehicles have been SUV's. A couple of the chiefs had/have Jeeps as their personal vehicles. One of those was in an overturned accident but no one was injured. The PFVFD has had several Jeeps for brush units, but none have ever turned over.
