Calvert County Sheriff's Office.....

The other day, a local businessman who is normally 100% accurate, was telling me that the Sheriff's office has lost 5-6 guys in the last month citing current and pending management. Most Deputies have basically say " come to work, don't get involved and go home". This is nothing new, but this is being echoed more and more.

Great job Democrats, great job.

I think a lot of the reluctance to do pro-active policing has to do with a number of things that have changed the playing field for Law Enforcement here in Maryland. First the repeal of the Law Enforcement Officer's Bill of Rights which set forth guidelines for disciplinary actions and afforded Law Enforcement Personnel some due process. Second the elimination of protection from civil liability when taking actions in the line of duty. Contrary to popular belief the LEOBR had provisions that would have placed the burden of civil liability on the shoulder of those found guilty of certain offenses committed in the line of duty. Third is the recent implementation of the Police Accountability Boards throughout the state. These are an unknown quantity at this point. Of course the prospect of a new Sheriff taking over the agency in Calvert County makes for some angst among the rank and file. Uncertainty is one of the worst things for the troops that work the streets everyday.

Those democrats are so mean to police!

Look what they did to this capitol police officer on January 6th.
