CDS Violation: 25-18678

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Deputy Chase observed a vehicle being operated in an unsafe manner in the area of Main Street and Wilson Court in Prince Frederick. Deputy Chase conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Leroy Alonzo Owens, 52, of Prince Frederick, and the passenger, Tyree Duprei Scott, 30, of Lusby. Neither occupant could provide a valid driver’s license or vehicle registration. DFC DeLeon and his K9 partner, Rico, arrived on the scene and conducted an open-air K9 sniff of the vehicle. K9 Rico gave a positive alert for narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle. Deputies discovered a torn plastic baggie, a metal rod, and a plastic cut straw, all covered in a white powdery residue. A search of Owens' person also revealed a copper wire. Scott was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center, charged with CDS Possession-Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.
