During the week of October 17, 2022 – October 23, 2022, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,320 calls for service throughout the community.

Theft: 22-60520


On October 17, 2022, Deputy T. Zinn responded to Guy Motors located at 3745 Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed sometime between 3 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 3 p.m. p.m. on Oct. 17, an unknown suspect (s) stole three catalytic converters from vehicles parked outside the business. The estimated value of stolen property is $2,800.00.

Malicious Destruction of Property: 22-61090

On October 20, 2022, DFC Durnbaugh responded to the 3900 block of Hunting Creek Road in Huntingtown, for the report of a malicious destruction of property. The complainant advised sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 9:32 a.m. on Oct. 20, an unknown suspect (s) attempted to cut the catalytic converter from a vehicle parked outside the residence. The transmission line to the vehicle was also cut. Reciprocating saw blades and a muffler were discovered next to the vehicle. The estimated value of damaged property is $900.00.

Theft: 22-60410

On October 17, 2022, Deputy Aley responded to Leitch Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. located at 99 Skipjack Road in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed sometime between Oct. 15 and Oct. 17, an unknown suspect (s) stole two catalytic converters from work trucks on the property. The estimated value of damaged/stolen property is $3,000.00.

On October 17, 2022, Deputy Dawson responded to the 1400 block of Dan Bowen Road in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. The complainant advised a package delivered to the residence had been stolen. The estimated value of stolen property is $150.00.

Theft: 22-61504

On October 22, 2022, Deputy Mister responded to the 8100 block of D Street in Chesapeake Beach, for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between Oct. 21 and Oct. 22, an unknown suspect (s) stole the front registration plate off the victim’s vehicle. The estimated value of stolen property is $100.00.

Theft: 22-60674

On October 18, 2022, Deputy R. Jones responded to the Wawa located at 10205 Kirksville Lane in Dunkirk, for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed a male subject entered the store and ordered two submarine sandwiches and left the store without making payment. The total value of stolen property is $15.67.

Theft: 22-60569

On October 17, 2022, Deputy T. Bowen responded to the 4300 block of Rhett Butler Court in Huntingtown, for the report of a theft. The complainant advised a wedding and engagement ring were stolen from the residence. The estimated value of stolen property is $14,000.00.

On October 17, 2022, Deputy R. Jones responded to the area of Solomons Island Road and Sunderland Drive in Sunderland, for the report of a disorderly subject. The complainant advised a black male approximately 60-years-old was staggering and walking in the roadway. Deputy Jones observed a subject matching the description at the Sunderland 7-11. Contact was made with George Wheeler Jacks, 54 of no fixed address, who had been indefinitely trespassed from the property and the establishment. Jacks was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespass: Private Property.

On October 19, 2022, Deputy Strong responded to the area of NB Rt. 4 and Wood Acres Court in Prince Frederick, to assist Maryland State Police with a traffic stop involving a wanted subject. Contact was made with the operator, Montez Xavier Brasher, 25 of Prince Frederick, who was wanted on an open bench warrant. Deputy Strong conducted a search of Brasher’s person incident to the arrest and recovered a rolled $1 bill with a white powdery substance inside (suspected cocaine). A vehicle search revealed four tied off clear baggies containing suspected cocaine. Brasher was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On October 23, 2022, Deputy Dawson responded to the Walmart located at 150 N. Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick, for the report of a subject with a knife and attempted theft. Preliminary investigation revealed Ronald Russey-Thyes, 23 of no fixed address, was observed unboxing an air rifle, swinging that and a bat around with a knife in his pocket. A store employee attempted to take the air rifle from Russey-Thyes, but he grabbed the bat and began to swing at personnel. The store employees were able to grab the bat and rifle from Russey-Thyes at which point he fled the store. S/DFC Flynt made contact was made with Russey-Thyes with a shopping cart of stolen goods totaling $989.24. Russey-Thyes was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespass: Private Property, Assault-1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Theft Scheme: $100 to Under $1500 and Theft: $100 to Under $1500.
