On June 29, 2021, Deputy Grierson responded to the 7800 block of Schooner Drive in Lusby, MD for report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between June 27th and June 29th, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s LGBT flag out of her front yard. The value of stolen property is $20.00.

On July 3, 2021, Deputy Kwitowski responded to the 3700 block of Chaneyville Road in Owings, MD for a report of destruction of property. The complainant advised sometime between 5 p.m. on July 2 and 8 a.m. on July 3, unknown suspect(s) put a large dent in the side of his mailbox. The estimated value of damaged property is unknown at this time.

On July 3, 2021, Deputy S. Naughton received report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between June 27 and July 3, unknown suspect(s) stolen the rear registration plate from her vehicle while parked at the Holiday Inn located at 155 Holiday Drive in Solomons, MD. The estimated value of stolen property is unknown at this time.

On July 4, 2021, Deputy Strong responded to the 8500 block of Patuxent Avenue in Broomes Island, MD for report of a theft. The complainant advised a trail camera was stolen from a post in his yard. The value of stolen property is unknown at this time.

On July 4, 2021, Deputy Aley received report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole the registration plate on his boat trailer while parked under the Thomas Johnson Bridge at the boat ramp. The estimated value of stolen property is unknown at this time.

ARRESTS

Shelby Roseann McDonald, 40


On June 28, 2021, DFC N. Buckler conducted a traffic stop in the area of Boyds Turn Road and Rt. 260 in Owings, MD. Contact was made with the driver, Shelby Roseann McDonald, 40 of Lothian, MD, who initially provided a false name and advised she did not have her license on her. A search of the vehicle revealed a glass crack pipe, a wad of brass brillo and a container of suspected cocaine. McDonald was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and Fraud.

Sophien Wright Djemmal, 27


On July 2, 2021, Deputy S. Naughton responded to the 7400 block of Stone Court in St. Leonard, MD for the reported motor vehicle accident. The complainant advised there was a vehicle in the woods with a male laying in the back seat with his feet hanging out the window. Deputy Naughton made contact with the driver, Sophien Wright Djemmal, 27 of Leesburg, VA, who advised he was ok, but failed to comply with deputy’s commands to exit the vehicle. Djemmal continued to ignore commands and further questioning. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of suspected marijuana. As Djemmal was placed into custody he attempted to pull away and resist arrest. Djemmal was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing and Hindering, Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order, and CDS Possession-Marijuana 10 Grams+.

Amy Michelle Drye, 42


On July 4, 2021, Detective Rector and Cpl. Norton responded to the Tiki Bar located at 85 Charles Street in Solomons, MD, for report of an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival, Cpl. Norton observed a heavily intoxicated female identified as Amy Michelle Drye, 42 of Broomes Island, MD, lying in the roadway. Contact was made with Drye and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from her person. Drye was unable to stand up on her own or speak coherently. Several attempts to obtain a sober ride for Drye were made, but Drye refused to comply. Drye advised deputies to take her to jail. While en route to the Detention Center, Drye continuously screamed profanities and babbled incoherently. Upon arrival at the Detention Center, Correctional Officers advised Drye was too intoxicated to enter the jail. Drye was transported to CalvertHealth where she was checked out by medical personnel and discharged. Deputies transported Drye back to the Detention Center where she was charged with Public Intoxication Endangerment and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest.
