During the week of May 10 – May 16, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,538 calls for service throughout the community.

Theft: 21-24931


On May 11, 2021, Deputy Durnbaugh responded to the 6600 block of Greenhill Court in Huntingtown, MD for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised her red Craftsman lawnmower and red Craftsman snow blower were stolen from her shed. The approximate value of stolen property is $500.00.

Damaged Property: 21-24945

On May 11, 2021, Deputy Shoemaker responded to the 3500 block of Tenley Place in Owings, MD for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised unknown suspects damaged the front windshield of a Dodge Van parked behind his house from what appears to be a pellet gun. The estimated value of property damage is $800.00.

Damaged Property: 21-25975

On May 16, 2021, DFC Gott responded to the 800 block of Golden West Way in Lusby, MD for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised two of his vehicles parked outside his residence had been egged overnight. The estimated value of damaged property is $50.00.

Damaged Property: 21-25986

On May 16, 20210 DFC Gott responded to the 900 block of Golden West Way in Lusby, MD for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised one of his vehicles had been egged. The estimated value of damaged property was $25.00.

Mail Tampering: 21-25451

On May 13, 2021, Deputy Shoemaker responded to the 1100 block of Redeye Road in Lusby, MD for the report of mail tampering and theft. Deputy Shoemaker arrived on scene and observed multiple mailboxes open and mail strewn across the roadway. Contact was made with a nearby resident who advised a package in his mailbox was opened and items were stolen from within. The estimated value of stolen property is $200.00.

Theft: 21-24649

On May 10, 2021, Sgt. Shrawder responded to 4100 block of 7th Street in North Beach, MD for the report of a stolen tag. The complainant advised unknown suspects stole her rear registration plate from her vehicle while parked at 4100 7th Street sometime between May 9th at 11 p.m. and May 10th at 11 a.m. The estimated value of stolen property is unknown at this time.

ARRESTS

R’Mari Rosario Baxter, 19 of St. Leonard, MD


On May 14, 2021, Deputy Wilder responded to the Fastop convenience store located at 11790 HG Trueman Road in Lusby, MD for report of a fight in progress. Deputy Wilder made contact with the parties involved and discovered one of the subjects R’Mari Rosario Baxter, 19 of St. Leonard, MD, was wanted on an active warrant through Maryland State Police. A search of Baxter’s person revealed a small bag of marijuana and two pills of Oxycodone Hydrochloride for which Baxter did not have a prescription for. Baxter was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Shawn Edward Horton, 28 of Chesapeake Beach, MD


On May 12, 2021, Deputy Flynt responded to the Highlands Park in Chesapeake Beach, MD for a welfare check. Deputy Flynt and Cpl. Fox observed a male subject sleeping in his vehicle with CDS paraphernalia in plain view on the passenger seat. The driver, Shawn Edward Horton, 28 of Chesapeake Beach, MD, exited the vehicle and a search was conducted. A search revealed five capsules of suspected Heroin and a hypodermic needle. Horton was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Robert Walsh Ridgewell, IV, 24 of Annapolis, MD


On May 13, 2021, Deputy Dymond conducted a traffic stop along Rt. 4 and Harvey Road in Huntingtown, MD. While making contact with the driver, Robert Walsh Ridgewell, IV, 24 of Annapolis, MD, an odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. A search was conducted and revealed a digital scale, a grinder, a Ziploc bag and a black container all containing suspected marijuana. The total weight of marijuana found was 40+ grams. Ridgewell was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with numerous traffic violations and CDS: Possession of Marijuana 10 GM+.
