Camper Tires

We have hair line cracks in our camper tires. Tires are two years old (we put them on in April 2009). I checked the date on them and they were manufactured in Nov. 07...so they were 1 1/2 years old when we bought them. The dealer says they are 10 ply tires and it is normal to have hair line cracks and not to be concerned. Does this sound right? We're just very careful about our safety when we pull the camper and try not to take any unnecessary chances.

You talking big camper or a travel trailer style camper. Judging by the 10 ply I am assuming large. I know the ones on our pop up are about 9 years old.

hey Blazinlow, Its a camper trailer. We took it to a Carlisle dealer and they honored the 2 year warrantee and we got 4 new tires. They were 8 ply and they were dry rotting....Big Ed's tires was great to work with. You might want to keep an eye on your camper tires....even if they look new they might be dry rotting. Happy traveling!

My first set om my camper started to dryrot so I had to get new ones. If you keep them covered they will last alot longer.
