We have gone to Lakewood Campground for the past 4 years. No problems until last year - hubbys bike was stolen down by the beach where everyone parks the bikes. Security said they were having trouble with that happening alot last year. Other than that we - Kids - 10, 12, & 18 really feel comfortable there.

Ocean Lakes and Pirate Land are on the same strip. I know ppl that have stayed in both of these campgrounds and have liked them also.

South Kings Highway - Myrtle Beach.

Good Luck!

In My Opinion
I stayed in the KOA in South Myrtle Beach for thanksgiving this year,, last year,, 08.
was pretty nice as far as KOAs go, not on the beach but walking distance.

Hubby and I and a whole group of people have stayed in Pirateland for the last 20 years or so and have had no problems. We love it there!

Daughter-in-law's family always go to Pirateland and have for several years, have really enjoyed, in fact she just made her reservations for this August, some bring campers others rent one of the places down there.

About 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach is a nice camp ground on the ocean called Huntington State Park. There is also a few things for teens interest. Next to the park there's an old fort to walk through etc., great restaurants, shopping and a store in the park. Very Friendly place. Gated at night etc.:yahoo:

Hey, just saw this. I can give you Gumby's info, he's moved down there. If you want to call him, let me know.

Pirateland is nice! We've stayed there a couple of times, but SB47 is making
Huntington State Park sound nice. I just didn't think they were on the water?

Now, isn't Lakewood the Christian campground next door to Pirateland?

Huntington Beach is great. Stay on Rt. 17 and it is about 3 miles past Murrells Inlet. The beach is less crowded, causeway to aligator watch, and picnic areas. Across the street is Brookgreen Gardens, beautiful. Murrells Inlet has great restaurants and nightlife along the water. And you are close to Garden City, Surfside and Myrtle Beach. Huntington Beach State Park
