I clicked no because I personally don't have $2k right now. I'm sure if it was an extreme emergency I could borrow money from a family member but it would have a to be a big emergency.

About a third of consumers say they would have trouble coming up with an emergency $2,000, according to a new study released Monday.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/on...e-coming-up-with-an-emergency-2000-2017-03-20

The study found around 67% said they were likely to come up with $2,000 in a month, meaning nearly 33% said they weren’t likely.
If I ever have need of emergency money, i'll just write to my friend the Nigerian Prince and have him send it to me.

:yay:

Part of financial independence is having an emergency fund. It should be 3-6 months (or more) of expenses (mortgage, electric, car payments, etc.).

This should not be an investment either. Something liquid like a savings account. Even I Bonds or CDs work for sort term with a bit better interest rate than a savings account.
