Cancer and questions

It has been brought to my attention that there is a good chance I know somebody who has throught(throat)? cancer and may go under the knife soon. Does anybody know anyone who has been through this or not?

Might this be associated w/ the Thyroid?

I do not know anything about throat cancer, but when my dad was sick with cancer (lung) they went in and removed it and said it was ALL gone and didn't then do any chemo or radiation to follow, couple years later it came back.....so moral being even if they say the got it ALL, fight your hardest to get the chemo and radiation afterwards......

My Dad had thyroid cancer, had surgury, they took the thyroid and I believe lymph nodes also, or tested lymph nodes. Don't quite remember, this was in '97. But he had the radiation afterwards and has been fine since then and he is in his early 70's. Best of luck!!
